hey this is ur monthly reminder to all caninekin and [dog] petreg that human bodies are not the same as puppy bodies!! here are some things that are different and some substitutes u can use! feel free to add more!!

KIBBLE is not made for humans - but you can eat dry cereal instead!

RUBBER TOYS can be made of plastics which are toxic to humans - try to stay away from any puppy toys made of rubber, go for ropes or plushes instead! Also - please don’t chew on things that will hurt you, like wires.

LEATHER COLLARS [can be] uncomfortable for humans because some of them may lack padding on the inside. if you want a nice dog collar, go for something nylon or buy one made for humans. having a leather one won’t hurt you but it can be a bit uncomfortable (i speak from experience)

HARNESSES do not fit all people!! the biggest dog harnesses get are about 32 inches around. don’t feel bad if you have to buy a bigger, made-for-humans harness. I’m 120lb (about 50kg) and my 32-inch dog harness barely fits me. (also, for bio-females, use your bra size to help with the sizing of a harness when you buy one. knowing the inches around your torso is important when buying harnesses.)

WALKING ON HANDS AND KNEES CAN BE DANGEROUS, so please walk on your knuckles instead of your flat hands! walking on flat hands can strain our wrists. ideally you could buy MMA gloves to protect your knuckles farther (and of course knee pads for your knees)

IF YOU’D LIKE YOUR CAREGIVER/HANDLER TO “TRAIN YOU,” (just commands like “sit” and “stay!”) learn them in a different language that you don’t already know! this way you actually have to do some trail and error, and actually learn the commands like a bio dog would.

Also - you don’t have to do any of these things to be a “real” canine. You should only really do things that you enjoy. If you don’t like dry cereal (like me) then don’t eat it. It won’t make you any less of a dog, or a bad dog.

Your astral wings/tail/ears/etc should not cause you pain. You should not be able to sit on them or crush them. They are not on this plane. If your wings are making your back ache or something similar, see a doctor! its not normal! one thing about the tumblr kin community is that a lot of things are misinterpreted, used incorrectly, or all around simply wrong.
