Art conventions look like such nice places to not only meet artists but also people who would like to support your art. But I do wonder if the experience differs from place to place...I keep seeing artists on artist alleys in UK, US and CA and not so much else😅

Brushweek 2025: Day 7- Lovely Brush

As I already have a Valentine angel character, I decided to give Rhodes a softer look. Roses and peonies are normally the flowers associated with him, and I made sure to add a few curly swoops in! This is the last day of the art challenge (created by catmask)! Thank you very much for checking my designs over this short period💛🌟

Brushweek 2025: Day 7- Lovely Brush

As I already have a Valentine angel character, I decided to give Rhodes a softer look. Roses and peonies are normally the flowers associated with him, and I made sure to add a few curly swoops in! Brushweek 2025: Day 6-Lagoon Brush

While my first intention was to create a "elemental" that fuses with water aspects (corals, algaes, fishes) and land (sand, crabs and pebbles) I decided that the jellyfish look makes much more sense for Rhodes.

Looking at jellyfish they appear translucent almost ehthereal in the way they float in the ocean and its depths :)

Brushweek2025: Day 5-Wretched Brush

I first thought about giving Rhodes a more punk rock aesthetic, but since he is supposed to be an archangel, the idea of opposites was too good to pass up. While he doesn't have great horns, his hooves are now able to extend in size to pierce through others.

Additionally, the tail ends are coated in a hardened, amber-like material for more utility. The idea of a "sinning hand" dragging him down ever so slightly was also another idea:)

BrushWeek: Day 4- Clean Brush

While I didn't want to have this fella wear a comfy bathrobe, I decided to go the more weird route. His body is inspired by the shampoo liquid, so he can create lil bubbles:D As all shampoos normally have a specific scent, I thought that he would probably have a general floral one, rose or peony.

Of course, he also gets a ducky for extra whimsy.

Brushweek 2025: Day 3-Garden Brush

The prompt for today was really interesting! I had two ways to take this prompt: either the character engulfed and "consumed" by mushrooms or a long-forgotten statue. But due to Rhodes' importance in the story, I feel like a decrepit statue with cracks, rust and fading paint makes more sense!

I leaned for a more warrior look for Rhodes’ cosmic design as I really wanted to play with swirls and more messy lines 🩵

Become marketable plushie, Rhodes! Day 2 of brushweek with the Plush brush. Admittedly, I wasn't sure of the direction I should take, but after looking at a few fabric patterns, it clicked. You can get this plushie at the low, low price of a full vanilla cookie tin! Pretty reasonable, right? 👀

meowdy, and here's a little art challenge for december my minnows and i have been cooking up! i know month long art challenges can be kind of intimidating to some people, so i figured making a week long one could encourage people to give longer challenges a try!
