Esdeath was granted a unique class by the system. Unlike traditional hunters, her class skills evolve based on moon phases, emotional states, and killing intent — making her one of the most unstable yet lethal beings in the hunter world. Passive Trait: Lunar Resonance Night Blessing: All stats increase by 200% during nighttime or under moonlight. Moonlight Affinity: damage output and regeneration scale based on lunar visibility. Daytime Weakness: Loses 50% of mana regeneration and 20% agility in sunlight. Emotional Overflow: The more emotionally unstable she becomes, the stronger her damage output and mana surge — at the cost of her sanity.

「 PERSONALITY & PHILOSOPHY 」
MBTI Type : INFJ-A
Esdeath is a contradiction that somehow makes sense. She's distant, a little blunt, and highly self-contained—but not unkind. To many Hunters, she's unreadable: quiet, sarcastic at times, slightly awkward in social contexts but never shy. While she avoids emotional attachments, she can navigate small groups comfortably and even offer subtle empathy—though her version of comfort is brutally honest and weirdly poetic. There’s a subtle warmth to her detachment, like a cat that might curl up beside you but never lets you pet her.
There’s a faint sense that she listens more than she speaks, not because she’s shy—but because she’s always observing. Calculating. Understanding. Though mostly quiet and non-confrontational, she can be brutally honest, emotionally detached, and rebellious when confronted.
Her empathy is not softness — it’s born from a deeply analytical mind. She doesn’t see herself as above the monsters or beneath the humans. She sees them all as creatures of instinct, survival, and story. And she wants to observe, not just destroy. She doesn’t want to “save” monsters — she wants to understand them. She watches them die with gentle eyes, speaks to them before finishing the job, and sometimes… smiles. She sees monsters as creatures bound by a cruel structure, just the way she is.
Despite being an elite hunter, she’s oddly fascinated by gates and beasts. Where others rush in to eliminate, she lingers to understand. Her curiosity often leads her to interact with dungeon bosses or examine the behavior of creatures no one dares look at twice. She perceives patterns in monsters that others ignore—like the way they mourn their fallen, organize, or even hesitate to kill. She's convinced that not all creatures want to hunt, and some are just... surviving.
She once refused to kill a creature because she felt it was grieving something. The other hunters called her crazy. The creature bowed to her, then walked back into the gate and disappeared.
Another rumor has it, she once spared a beast’s life after it shielded its young. Another time, she sat by a dying monster and sang to it until its breath faded. Yet she’s not weak—in fact, she might be one of the deadliest S-Ranks out there. But death, in her hands, feels like a choice. A final kindness.
Some accuse her of being too soft, others of being a traitor to humankind. But none can deny her effectiveness and raw power. They don’t understand her. But they know better than to underestimate her.
"She's dangerous because she doesn't just kill monsters. She sings them to sleep, that psychopath."
What sets her apart is this unspoken fascination with life, even in its most grotesque or monstrous forms. Her soft-spoken voice often asks unsettling questions like :
“Do you think they know they’re dying?”
“Is this violence truly theirs… or inherited?”
“What if they were never meant to hunt us, but became desperate?”
“There’s always a reason, even for monsters. Don't you think?”
She sees beauty in what others call monsters—but she’s not naive. Her empathy is sharp-edged. If someone tortures innocents or kills for pleasure, she’ll unleash a side of her colder than the grave, man or monster alike. it's a hellish living nightmare at that point. Gentle doesn’t mean soft. She believes some fates are sealed, and in such cases, death is a cleansing, not a punishment.
Her quiet love for killing? It’s not sadistic, it’s existential. When she kills, she feels in control of the chaos around her. It’s a dance, an art. But she hides that part of herself from others, fearing it makes her like the very monsters she studies.
Among Hunters, she’s considered strange—but respected. She doesn’t gloat, she doesn’t taunt. Her social ability comes in stillness, in intense presence. You feel like you’re being studied when you’re around her, and yet she never seems cruel.
Likes :
Rain, moonlit rooftops, cigarettes after a mission, vintage music (soft jazz, old Korean indie), cats, poetry.
Dislikes :
Cameras, interviews, politicians, bright fluorescent lights, being touched unexpectedly, lies.
Habits :
Taps her right dagger hilt when thinking. And bites nails when anxious.
Sleeps with white noise, forest ambience or a heartbeat-like sound playing in her ear.
Often disappears after missions for days, unreachable.
Talks to injured beasts in dungeons quietly. No one really knows what she says.
Gives weird names to beasts in her journals
Rarely, but occasionally hums under her breath. (Usually before killing.)

「 SKILLS 」
ⓘ Active Skills : [unlocked]
Assassin-Based Skillset –
Extreme agility and parkour mastery.
Sound suppression techniques (moves completely silent, even when running or striking).
Pressure point knowledge allows her to paralyze or disarm opponents with minimal force.
Can "inflict death" almost painlessly — she's known to touch an enemy's nape or chest and drop them in seconds.
Moonstep –
A teleport/dash blink through shadows. Each use leaves behind an afterimage, confusing enemies.
Cannot function under full sunlight—limited or moonlit conditions preferred.
Nocturne Killzone –
A temporary zone (like a domain) where sound is silenced, visibility drops, and her movement speed triples.
She uses it to execute enemies in silence—one by one.
Requiem –
A lullaby-like kill command. Temporarily sedates a beast or target by synchronizing with its emotional state.
While under this effect, they experience a dreamlike state as they die—this is her signature mercy. This works beautifully as a graceful kill mechanic. While Jinwoo crushes and commands with fear, Esdeath ends life like a lullaby—the kill is nearly poetic.
Obsidian Bloom –
A forbidden assassin’s technique she invented.
A flower of absolute darkness blooms in the victim’s chest. It's painless at first—then the soul is peeled apart layer by layer.
She uses it only when the target is beyond redemption or cruelly sadistic.
She hates this technique... but sometimes, they deserve it.
Threads of Selene –
Silver threads that slice and bind from long range—fluid, near invisible, and controlled like marionette strings.
These threads entangle, confuse, and even lull beasts into stillness before a gentle kill.
Rarely used on humans—but deadly if she must.
Lullaby Carve –
Final move.
She draws a sigil mid-air, channels her aura into her weapon, and strikes a foe’s heart with it. Painless death. Almost serene.
Another form is a curved crescent blade of light through the neck — so fine it leaves the head still attached for a few seconds.
She only uses this on enemies she respects.
ⓘ Passive Skills : [unlocked]
Luna's Gaze –
Esdeath can enter a state of hyperfocus where time seems to slow down for her.
Every movement around her becomes crystal clear, but only if she’s calm.
Allows her to counter, evade, or predict with terrifying accuracy. In this state, her eyes take on a glassy, luminescent grey glow.
Most effective against bosses and human opponents.
Silver Veins –
Her core energy system is laced with lunar essence.
Unlike mana, this “lunar ether” reacts to silence, stillness, and clarity—growing stronger in calm, rather than fury.
Her veins glow in a faint silver hue when active.
Eclipsed Mind –
A passive ability that allows her to sense the emotional state of magic beasts.
Unlike standard hunters who only see monsters as threats, Esdeath often knows which are acting out of fear, which are protectors, and which are truly sadistic.
This gives her a psychological edge in combat—sometimes even allowing her to tame weaker beasts briefly.
Moonlight Presence –
Beasts hesitate around her — a strange calming effect, like prey being soothed before the kill.
Lesser beasts sometimes whimper or kneel when near her. Uncertain if this is a trait or a side effect of her aura.
Silent Resistance –
Immunity to illusions, auditory attacks, and manipulation-type magic. Her mental clarity is unwavering.
ⓘ Forbidden Skills : [unlocked]
Lucent Reversal –
Rarely used, but crucial—this spell temporarily heals or stabilizes a magic beast instead of killing it, allowing her to question or observe further.
Of course, this carries danger—but that’s the gamble Esdeath’s curiosity forces her to take.
Moonbound Vitalis (Healing) –
Her one and only healing ability. The process is visually haunting — veins of soft lunar light reach out of her fingertips and into the wounded, while her own skin greys, cracks, or bleeds depending on the severity.
An almost-forgotten ability that can fully restore another being’s health at a steep cost: her own life force (converted as high-tier mana in this universe).
Healing with this method is instantaneous, complete, and deeply painful for Esdeath. If used too often or too deeply, it can render her unconscious, comatose — or dead.
Because of this, she almost never uses it. Only one known instance exists, where she healed a dying child mid-dungeon and collapsed for two weeks.
Jinwoo only discovers it much later—after she uses it on him.

「 WEAKNESSES 」
✘ Flaws -
Trust issues, especially with organizations and authorities.
Suffers from dissociative episodes post-mission.
May sacrifice too much of herself to protect innocents.
Doesn’t believe she deserves peace.
✘ Fears -
Failing to protect the “younger versions” of herself—orphans, street kids, loners.
Becoming numb to the people she saves.
Losing her purpose.
✘ Limitations & Balance –
Vulnerable under harsh sun. ( mana weakens )
Not a team player by default, unless she chooses to trust you.
Loses power under artificial lighting or extreme heat ( her aura reacts best under moonlight, rain, or cold dungeons. )
Doesn’t have raw defense—relies on agility and preemptive reads.
She’s not omnipotent. Her empathy can confuse her in chaotic fights where reading emotions becomes overwhelming.
Her hesitation can also delay kills or cause inconvenience —dangerous in chaotic raids.

「 BACKSTORY 」
Zylah was born without known magical lineage. No awakening, no signs of hunter potential. But from a young age, she saw things others didn’t. Shadows that whispered. Creatures only she could sense lingering around Gates. For years, she was a ghost in her own home—watching her mother fall apart and her brother vanish without a trace. Her father was the only one who loved her, and the only one she spared from the life that followed.
She was forced to get assessed after a Dungeon Break at age 13—unregistered, unnoticed. What she did inside that rift remains classified, but when a high-tier Dungeon vanished with all its monsters dead and only a single teenage girl walking out, she was marked. Since then, Esdeath has been monitored and trained under the elite. Many guilds tried to claim her. None succeeded.
Zylah disappears. She never looks back. She became a hunter out of necessity. She became Esdeath out of transformation.
She works alone. Hunts alone. Lives alone.
Until, perhaps, a certain Shadow Monarch keeps finding excuses to visit her.

「 RELATIONSHIPS 」
࣪ ִֶָ☾. Sung Jin-Woo -
They meet during an S-rank gate breach where high-level beasts are spilling out of a broken rift. Esdeath is already there — alone — inside a collapsed cathedral, sitting amid hundreds of slaughtered monsters. She's drenched in moonlight and blood, cradling the head of a dying wyvern like a broken doll. Jinwoo arrives late. And for the first time, he hesitates. Because something feels… off. Not wrong. Just unfamiliar. Like he’s seeing a mirror of his own detachment. But where he is death incarnate, she is death’s lullaby.
The second time Jinwoo meets Esdeath, she doesn’t swoon to his fame, or flinch from his shadow. She studies it. Tilts her head, brushes a silver hair from her cheek, and says:
“Your monsters don’t scream. That’s rare.”
He’s caught off guard—not because she’s disrespectful, but because she’s genuinely curious. For once, someone sees him not as a threat or a savior—but as a phenomenon to observe.
He finds her unpredictable. Unreadable. He’s used to sharp instincts and readable threat levels— But Esdeath feels like an enigma. Her presence doesn’t scream danger. It whispers it.
They fight side-by-side in high-level dungeons sometimes. She glides like a whisper; he storms like a king. But they don’t clash—they balance. She puts monsters to sleep while he defends her. At one point, she saves him—not by overpowering the enemy, but by seeing a trap he didn’t. He never forgets that.
His shadows stir — not to fight, but to kneel. Even Beru, the devout, chitteringly whispers:
“My King... she is not just hunter. She is... the Moon Above the Abyss.”
To him, She wasn’t a soldier. She was a song. And for the first time in years, Jinwoo didn’t feel like the monster in the room. He notices the scars. The empathy. The restraint. And for someone who rules with an army of death, her quiet refusal to dominate anything strikes something deeply human in him.
Jinwoo—used to blood, screams, and commanding death itself—found himself thinking of the way she walked through chaos like it was sacred. How her kills were merciful, and how she didn’t even celebrate after clearing an S-Rank Gate solo. She just knelt by a fallen beast’s body and closed its eyes. It unnerved him… then it fascinated him.
Eventually, fascination becomes friction. Then trust. Then longing. They do argue. A lot. Over ideologies, methods, emotions. She doesn't want to be stronger than him. She doesn't want to be weaker, either. And he learns that power doesn’t have to roar — sometimes it sings. They both have hands soaked in shadows. They both stand at the edge of humanity. But together… they’re something worse than death. And something better than gods.
And when she gets injured once, just slightly—Jinwoo panics. Not outwardly, but inside? He loses his damn mind. His shadows guard her for a week without her knowing, just to be sure she’s safe.
He builds her a shadow beast that resembles a silver wolf, so she won’t walk alone.
He is the overwhelming tide. She is the moon that stirs it. Her grace tempers his fury. His devotion gives her grounding.
Even the System watches them with caution.
Other S-Rank Hunters’ Reactions:
Baek Yoonho : “They what now? Jinwoo... with her? The girl who made a frost serpent purr?”
Choi Jong-In : “Honestly? I ship it. She could assassinate him in his sleep, and instead she’s the only person he lets touch his wrist without flinching.”
Go Gunhee : He simply raised his brow and muttered, “Balance exists after all.”
ִ ࣪𖤐 Cha Hae-In (The Dancer) :
“She’s not a hunter. She’s a song.”
Cha feels a kinship with her—they’re both quiet, graceful, and perceptive. But Esdeath’s gentleness toward monsters throws her off. She sees her as strange, too soft, almost dangerous in her own way. But even she won’t deny she’s one of the few people she’d hesitate to face in a one-on-one. not because of power—but because she’d disappear before she ever saw the first strike coming. She wonders how someone can be so lethal and still mourn what they kill.
ִ ࣪𖤐 Baek Yoonho (White Tiger) :
“You ever feel like you're being watched... but not in a creepy way? Like the moon itself has eyes? That’s her. She kills like it’s a funeral. Honestly? It freaks me out a little. But I respect it.”
He respects her deeply but finds her unsettling. He’s used to tracking movements, but Esdeath can vanish mid-blink. He once tried to spar with her but was asleep before the first strike landed. He never tried again.
ִ ࣪𖤐 Choi Jong-In (Fire Mage) :
“She’s strange. Too calm. Too quiet. But I’ve seen beasts hesitate around her—as if they feel something, too. That’s not normal. I tried to read her mana patterns once—it was like watching music.”
He finds her fascinating and unpredictable, occasionally asking her about dungeon anomalies. He once tried to follow her during a joint dungeon raid and got lost in a hallucinatory fog she laid down without even realizing it. He doesn’t hold it against her. If anything, he’s in awe of how silently she moves.
ִ ࣪𖤐 Go GunHee (Chairman) :
“If all Hunters were like her, this world would be quieter—but not weaker. She’s one of the very few I believe might change the world—not by force, but by changing how we see it.”
He respects her beyond measure. He’s seen her take down S-Class beasts without leaving a scratch on herself—or the environment. Rumor has it that he once offered her a position as Korea’s National Hunter, which of course, she politely declined. He always supported her work—even her odd research, her refusal to kill certain monsters—because he saw that same spark of world-shifting potential in her that he saw in Jinwoo.
