This is a research page where I place information, texts, images and other things that seem important for my practice. I am a graduate from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, where I studied Art and Public Space. My MFA revolved around the term ruin-construction – a term I use to describe how historical and contemporary issues make structures that ultimately will disintegrate or lead to new development.

A crisis of production

Mining is object oriented

The anthropocene era is object oriented. 

If one want to steer away from the object, but still produce work about these object oriented industries or eras, how do we talk about this? 

In the time since the industrial revolution the producing humans have made externality produce = waste. This waste is rarely reused, though they have other purposes. Other times waste is made without ever having been used. 

I am so unsure of how to reflect the thoughts I have about the mining impact. It seems as if the knowledge of the damage mining does ecologically and environmentally has always been known. The willfulness of policymakers to construe their words as ambiguous are more damaging in the long run. Pretending not to understand when something is breaking or disintegrating, rather saying they never saw it coming when it ultimately happens. 

I want a world without things.

Biodiversity

The Haunted Landscape of the Anthropocene

“The winds of the Anthropocene carry ghosts– the vestiges and signs of past ways of life still charges in the present. [...] ‘Antrhopocene’ is the proposed name for a geologic epoch in which humans have become the major force determining the continuing liveability of the earth. The word tells a big story: living arrangements that took millions of years to put into place are being undone in the blink of an eye. The hubris of conquerors and corporations makes it uncertain what we can bequeath to our next generations, human and not human.”
