like with most things, I'm doing this in the most backwards way possible lol.
Hello, my name is Ak ^^
I dabble in art in between work meetings (idk what the fuck Iâm doingâŠ) and unproductive daydreaming. I also write but we don't need to worry about that for now...
This blog was originally intended to keep all my OC content organized, but I fell asleep for 11 months and nothing got done. And now I'm outwardly too deep in several hyperfixations to worry about that. I should add that within those 11 months, a certain game that won't be out till 2025 has had me in a chokehold...Specifically, a dark leather gloved hand that keeps insisting I trust it even though I just met him and he's poisoned me 2 times already... ANYWAYS.
Chances are I'll be posting a lot more fan art here in the future. please bear with me because even though I lurked for years I'm still pretty new to tumblring...I like interacting though, even if I'm bad at it ^^'

Poke poke........soo....about those magic systems đ
You. I love you.đ
Okay, so Iâm going to start with the basics and then add on the thing I was specifically mentioning beforehand, just so that we can establish a base for this. There are a lot of other components that go into it. And that allows for a lot of fun shit, but also harbors on math that Iâve put off doing myself lol. But for now, and the basics of how SU-verseâs magic system worksâŠ
First off, in this universe, everything runs on the idea that âenergy is all around us, and everything within existence holds some form of energy in itself.âÂ
Where magic comes from:
Imagine that you have a stack of papers âŠBut it's handmade paper, so some parts of the sheet are thicker or thinner in sections⊠but now imagine if your stack of paper could somehow merge and flow into one another like intersecting plans, but crazy mode. Your paper is now fluid, flexible, and constantly shifting between one another. So you have all these intersecting points. Now substitute that paper for a plane of energy, and youâve got your basics of magical energy. This is what general planes of energy are like. But you also have to remember that your paper is thicker in some spots and thinner in others. So imagine if these thicker parts were to meet at a single point in space⊠this is how potential magic is formed.
Here's something like a diagram that was shittily put together in Google Docs...
Imagine the lines as your energy planes, and where they intersect is where energy is at its strongest.
So that's the base aspect of this. But you still need some force of intervention to actually produce magic. Otherwise, you simply have a spot with a high energy concentration. So this is where the spellcaster aspect comes into playâŠ
How you âmakeâ the magic:
You, as a magic user, have your own source of energy⊠Some call this something akin to the concept of life force; others think itâs a connection to your soul or spirit. But either way, everyone has their own personal energy to draw from. (Yes, this is a depletable resource. Which is why itâs not advised to use your own raw energy) But to perform magic, you make something similar to an exchange⊠using your own energy to draw forth or into the concentrated energy around you, you basically mix a bit of your energy with the energy around you to produce something physically tangible⊠This is magic.
And since everything has its own energy. Magic is more of a game of manipulating the form of energy itself. Be it from the undefined â making something out of nothing, or manipulating the form of an object â making something from something else. (ironically enough, making something from something is actually harder than it soundsâŠ)Â
producing may feel a bit abstract⊠mainly because there really isnât a limit to what you can do with this outside of human/mortal limits. If you want to be a teapot chucking wizard, by all means go for it⊠But at the same time, itâs important to remember that to make something, you have to deeply understand it. So most people pick a specific type of magic to study or devote themselves to. This is where your more standard magic comes into play, fire magic. That way, if you want to be a teapot chucking wizard, you can study the ins and outs of teapots and only focus on making them appear as you wish⊠or be normal and just study a subgroup of glass magic or somethingâŠÂ
Itâs a really fun system! And I have the time of my life mending the plot hole nonsense with it. Itâs great having something so abstract yet deeply regulated because you get to have a lot of fun working around rules and bending thingsâŠÂ
This is simply the basics of it. Most of society opts to use magic tools instead of chucking spells left and right. So, in-depth learning outside of simple energy infusion to start up a device or two is saved for someone going to specific industries or the military. Your normal average citizen doesnât need to know the ins and outs. I havenât even touched on the real meat of it, like written magics or tool usage â fun fact, the actual daily practiced magic system runs on necromancy??? casually???? So that influences how this basic stuff is applied. But anywaysâŠ. Poke me 0 _ 0
Okay, now to cover what I was specifically mentioning beforehand! Where you feel magic is a very niche thing, and something of the past. Only really studied by battle mages in order to scope out targets and eliminate other mages or spellcasters.Â
But basically, think of it like chakra points in the body. Each region of the body has a point where energy conjugates. This is where you naturally feel magic first. âMagic comes from the heart.â Well then, your magic gathers in your chest first. Some feel a sensation that tinges and pools up from the soles of their feet. For others, the feeling resides in their palm. Everyone is different and unique, so magic gathers for everyone differently.Â
Again, this is more so inside baseball stuff⊠Because it really doesnât matter anyway for day-to-day life. When you're in a classroom, and everyone is using a wand, your output will all be from the tip of your wand anyway⊠if there is any modern use of this information, it would only really be relegated to medicine. An older doctor might cheekily ask you where you feel magic, and depending on your answer, theyâll just know which part of you would heal faster⊠because again, itâs just where magic resides naturally within you.Â
But where this really was important is when you're fighting other magic users. Given that that spot is where your magic naturally resides, itâs also your weak point. You can imagine that if you took out that spot in some way, youâd have a hard time using magic afterwards. This is why battle mages would normally train to have more than one feel point. Because having only one is a liability. A lot of magic duels, outside of measuring whose magic balls are bigger, boil down to simply observing our opponent and taking out weak points.Â
There are also some advantages and disadvantages in certain feel points.Â
Going back to Hissa and Luna. I said they feel magic in their heads. This is actually pretty special for battle mages. For them, if you're born feeling magic in your head, it's like having a natural talent. Battle mages were also at times mainly demons, so a lot of their practices are steeped in spirituality⊠So the story goes, that you're blessed if you feel magic in your head, because you're born closest to the Gods. (since a God's âheartâ is their brain) But if we want to look at this from a more technical or grounded sense. Since your magic is so close to your brain, you have a quicker connection time. Meaning your reaction and magic output is quicker than most⊠less distance to travel or something lol⊠some man battle mages trained to feel in their heads as well. Because the natural five heads were deadly to encounter.
But they also have glaring disadvantages⊠one quick shot to the dome and you're done. Of course, everyone would probably be out after that... But you're extra out, because you canât perform magic anymore, so all the other battle mages will point and laugh at your stupid, dead, no magic performing ass.Â
Youâre also way more susceptible to psych attacks or injuries⊠in Lunaâs case, it amplifies her already shitty dream situation. So the night terrors hit extra spicy for her.Â
But magic is always a balancing act. Mortals were never meant to wield it to begin with, so itâs only natural that you would have constant drawbacks.Â
But yeah, thatâs the explanation behind that ^^<3

You know, whatever.... I still don't wanna go work àČ â àČâ àČ !!
More introductions!
I know I've posted her before, but I don't remember if I've given her a proper introduction â but this is Kate.
My problem child, and the protagonist of all this... Though I guess a better introduction is "hey guys, this is Luna's sister" lol... Twin sister to be exact.
The main story follows her pov for the most part, and you would theoretically get to learn magic and the mysticals throughout the story alongside Kate.
Below are more details about the actual plot and Kate herself.
Kate is my sweet, far too happy, and way too lucky child. Who gets to have her shit handed to her when realizing the insane responsibilities that come with being the typical "chosen one" even if it's in name only...
Adopted into a loving family, Kate lived most of her upbringing relatively peacefully. Till she was at the wrong place at the wrong time, which ends with her chase by crows, nearly ran over, and tripped down a cliff with stolen apartment keys in her hand. Later stumbling back to return the stolen item only to leave with another thing that did not originally belong to her. This time, a polished gem that sparkled a bit too much to be normal. And with some later shenanigans, Kate ends up unlocking a slow trickle of memories for a handful of people. One of those people being the teachers assistant at her current school. Geae, who suddenly drops all nonchalance after finally getting a small piece of her memories back and dumping a bunch of information on Kate. Casually starting off with the proof that magic is real. And ending with the random explanation that there was a reincarnation of a God's spirit inside of her.
Hard to believe, and harder to trust. Until strange events keep popping up left and right resulting in one of Kate's new friends getting dragged into this magic mess, and leaving her to team up with Geae to do something about it.
Starting the hunt for more gems that are scattered around town. And that might also be pieces of her dad's soul...?? But that's a whole other can of worms. Which, at the time, she didn't have the luxury of worrying about, since her alleged uncle was chasing her down, and not too happy she stole some items from him.... Busy dealing with the strange man in her dreams who looks far too similar to herself.
Anyways, that was basically explaining the rough idea of book 1, (no... I'm not even close to finishing it so I have little to show other than yapping (â -â _â -â ;â ) ) but after that, and once she and Geae unlock the hidden memories, they have a fun time trying to get back home... Moreso dimension hopping back to a more magical version of earth. Where Kate eventually gets to meet the rest of the family after dealing with Jason and his people. Yet a warning constantly playing in the back of her mind as she ventures on. The question of if this really was a family she wanted a part in?
I feel like I'm repeating myself, but the full story is a bit more complicated than this. And follows one of my favorite tropes of "innocent character slowly losing it, freak style."
By the end of the story Kate isn't the bubbly fifteen year old she started out as. With a lot more baggage and ghosts to deal with.
The story itself follows the themes of guilt and accountability. The effects of imperialism, and other darker themes that don't feel like they fit this aesthetic, lol. But again, it's a story I have a lot of pride in bc I've worked on it for so long^^
Again, if you've read all this, thank you so much, it means the world^-^âĄ
I'm having a shit time at life right now, so to distract myself and further procrastinate on work, I'm sneaking back in here to yap about my favorite problematic oc ship and their daughter, because why not!
I've posted Luna on here before (with very little context, I knowâ) but I would like to introduce her Dad's(â  â êâ áŽâ êâ )ââ â
Introduction from left to right as follows: this is Hissa and Jason. Luna's adopted parents, and my favorite dysfunctional pairing of OCs(â Â â Ëâ Â â Âłâ Ëâ )â â„
No idea why my brain has relatched onto them again, but here I am... Forgoing the pile of work I have to finish by Monday in order to draw these fools...
Here's a cute picture of Luna and Hissa before I start yapping to no one lmao...
They both adore her and her unpleasant disposition as much as I do and I'm grateful for it Êâ  â êâ ᎄâ êâ Ê
They also have very different ways of showing this care, which I'm personally obsessed with so I'll find a way to add that into my little rant somehow â the main point is: these are my handful of favs rn...
So anywaysâ I suppose I should have started with the premise of what this story is about before getting into specific characters, but I'm not one for doing things in order... All that has to be known rn, is that these three are definitely not the main characters. In fact I find myself drawing Luna more than her actual sister who is the protagonist, but that's just because I have obvious favorites...
The quickest run down of their connection without getting into too much plot detail, is that Jason is technically Luna's Uncle (making him also Kate's Uncle) but adopted her at birth when the two siblings were split up... Which was maybe, or maybe not, entirely his fault âĄ
Ever since then, Jason and Hissa have been raising Luna as their own precious daughter...
I now suddenly have no idea where to go from here without being ask specific questions... so I'll just throw some fun random stuff about them down below until I get embarrassed àČ„â âżâ àČ„
Since this is the start of trying to introduce OCs I think I'll hold off on the deeper problematic stuff, but a summary background: Jason and Hissa have known each other since they were young... Hissa, being responsible for protecting Jason and his Older brother at the time, before the family tragedy that broke the house up and separated the kids... </3
Their history is very complicated....
Hissa is slowly going blind (already blind in the right eye) due to his past injuries, but has been able to maintain his sight and other few functions due to Jason's family's medical practice and resources.... Also the device in his ear is practically a hearing aid.
Hissa is a Battle Mage. Born and bred from the farms... raised as a child soldier, then escaped in the uprising later becoming a mercenary, tracking down and taking out the aristocrats that funded and profited from the farms.
Hissa used to have wings(â âąâ  â âœâ  â âąâ ;â )!!
And hair....
And a whole lot more...
Hissa's scars and disabilities were done to him by Jason's Aunt (technically adopted mother...) who hunted (yes hunted) him down when he was young, and disfigured him to such a degree he was a breath away from death. Only to take him home and personally patch him up...đ She used the family resources and her connections in the medical field to oversee his recovery and treatment throughout the years. After binding him to herself, she put him in charge of her children's safety as a finale "fuck you" since at that point, there was nothing he could do to fight back... So easy to see why the history could be complicated...
Realizing this is very Hissa focused, some fun facts about Jasonâ he is a trained doctor! Despite being the youngest, Jason took up the family trade in his Brother's place and went to med school (I should officially clarify, magical med school .... This is a magic based society after all (â âąâ  â âœâ  â âąâ ;â ) ...) though he can administer normal healing magic and stuff, his study focus was therapy. Specifically sleep therapy for children... He's licensed to perform something that is, in simple terms, dream magic. Working with young children who suffer from night terrors. It's a more niche practice to go into, especially for a member from a main household. And a type of magic you definitely have to be trained and licensed to practice (I'm talking regular check ins and license updates since it's a form of manipulation in some way...) but he doesn't necessarily work in that field anymore... Though, Jason has found a lot of use for it when it comes to Luna. + He's a bit too busy to work at the moment... Something about tracking down a misplaced child or something....
Luna, who has suffered from night terrors since she was born... A side effect of hosting half a gods soul or something (â âżâ ^â âżâ ^â ) but who isn't plagued by the dying echos of the universes core now a daysâĄâĄâĄ
Jason (when not searching the universe for Luna's misplaced sister, or being a sopping wet depressed cat) spends as much time helping Luna try and catch up on sleep. Since she has decided to simply make the decision of refusing to sleep... Which obviously is not good for anyone đđđ
When Jason is not there to keep Luna out of trouble, Hissa is there to train her(â ïŒâ ^â Ïâ ^â ïŒwhich is why she's not entirely pleasant to fight... Being trained to fight like a Battle Mage is the equivalent of a royal fighting street style instead of something fancy like fencing... Also if fighting street style was made illegal....
More random... but Hissa finds the misplaced sister first... :)
He proceeded to beat the shit out of said sister... :))
Hissa is a very "tough, yet distant love" type when it comes to Luna. Whereas Jason is very careful if not fretful over her... Ironically enough Luna responds better to the tough love than whatever Jason's guilty ass has going on.
Luna's body is very weak due to the effects of just... not sleeping đ whenever she's not stuck in bed due to her body actively trying to break down, she's zooming around thanks to her remarkable control over energy, using it to basically puppet herself around the place... But Hissa or Jason are happy to carry her around if she suddenly decides she's had enough (exhibit a, the image above (â âĄâ  â Ïâ  â âĄâ ) â )
Hissa and Luna both "feel" magic in their heads, which is actually very special, and very important world building wise... But it's a bit too complicated to explain right here. So if anyone would like to hear me rant about magic systems, please poke me....
Poke me 0 _ 0
Jason and Hissa are married (technically...) but their relationship is again... Very complicated! I'm still not entirely sure what's up with the two of them, other than I'm pretty sure they've both become somewhat codependent to some twisted extent... Where the relationship started off as a way for Hissa to get some type of revenge, it's come to a point they both need the other. Yet also slightly hurting the other??? It's hard to explain without context, and also content warnings lol. Just know I enjoy writing messy shit, and they are certainly messy... (Messy as in, shit is fucked, and you get to witness just how it fucks them both over in the end...) The story starts off with them going through a lovers quarrel over parenting styles lolâ also this is me sitting here realizing I'm starting off with my worst representation lmao. Imma shut up now(â â„â ïčâ â„â )
ANYWAYS
That's my yapping about them for now... I'm still trying to figure out how to introduce this story on here... Most of the time my post from past platforms grew with the story. Yet now there is so much to catch up with I almost don't know where to start without sounding crazy.
I basically have a butt load of individual stories/projects that are all somewhat connected/within the same universe... These characters are from the base of it all. And also comes with a bunch of world building and lore... I'm just trying to figure out where to start with it all I guess... But anyways, I'm repeating myself at this point.... Sorry this was so random lol...
If you have read this far thank you. âĄ
Talking about OCs sometimes feels a bit scary. But this story is very important to me, and something I've been working on for over a decade now... So I'd really like to share it one day^^
Spring is great: It's bright and warmer during the day. Evening exists again. The blooming flowers are pretty and I like how green everything is outside...
Spring sucks: There are currently ANTS falling from the ceiling INTO MY BED because I live in the basement and nothing is properly sealed. Meaning every year after it rains in the spring, ants hide in the cracks and crevices only to find ME! and terrorize MEEEE!!!
I landed in Havana today. Trumpâs fuel blockade is choking the life out of this city. Havana is near silent, empty streets, empty markets. Not because thereâs no food, but because farmers canât get fuel to deliver it. Trump is trying to starve 11 million people into submission. This is a crime against humanity, unfolding in plain sight. Night falls and the city struggles to keep lights on, in total defiance after 66 years of economic war. The world must stop looking away. Let Cuba live!
I know this is a deeply American thing to say but I am begging everyone to stay the fuck away from military recruiters. Especially high school kids. You are going to be seeing an unholy amount of them in schools or around schools or literally anywhere kids are known to congregate. THIS INCLUDES ALL FORMS OF ROTC. Stay the fuck away from military recruiters. As someone whoâs familiar with entirely too many branches through entirely too many friends and family, including my partner, recruiters are authorized to say literally any fucking thing they think will make you sign on that line. They cannot and will not deliver on those promises. They need bodies for the war theyâre pretending is only now starting up again. Thatâs all you are. A body. Stay the FUCK away from the military.
I can't post the full thing here because it's originally almost 30mins long. But hopefully this little snippet can sneak through Tumblr's defenses.
I was testing whether my laptop can handle recording a speedpaint. We lasted 5 or so hours before he started crying. The main reason I can't record more often is that my laptop is both old and feeble, and my C drive is comically fucked. I need to save up fr a hard drive, but till then, I hope you can enjoy^^
