February 1967; photo by Henry Grossman. “George always had a very pragmatic streak. He never let the so-called glamour of show-business seduce him. He always saw through phoney people very quickly. He was the practical one, the one who could mend the amplifier or change the fuse. And he is one of the most generous people I know. If you were a friend of George in need, he would reach into his pocket and give you his last penny. Equally, if it were a matter of principle, he would defend you to the last. If ever I were in trouble, George Harrison is the kind of person I would like to be able to turn to.” - George Martin, With A Little Help From My Friends: The Making of Sgt. Pepper (1994) “There was a time in the Nineties when Dad was very sick. He was confined to bed and things were fairly touch and go for a while. George [Harrison] was wonderful, simply wonderful; he came over to visit and brought Dad a Ganesh elephant symbol, telling him it would keep him safe and well. He was such a comfort to the whole family during a difficult time. He was a very keen gardener, the grounds of his home were just beautiful, still are, and he helped Mum a lot with our garden. He would drive over to see us with as many plants as he could fit on to the passenger seat of a McLaren F1! He meant a great deal to my dad; to all of us.” - Giles Martin, Express, May 27, 2012 “I spoke to George Martin recently, and he was talking about all the ‘20 years ago today’ stuff and The Beatles CDs, and he said, 'Never mind, George. It’ll soon be gone and we can go back into our shells.’” - George Harrison, The Observer Magazine, 1987 Q: “George Martin recently admitted he still felt embarrassed about not giving you more attention in the studio. He claimed he’d been ‘beastly to George.’” George Harrison: “He wasn’t beastly to me, but he spoke to me recently and said his only regret was that he didn’t realize sooner what I was. He already had enough to deal with, I suppose, with this band The Beatles who already had two guys out there writing and singing. He didn’t really need to try because in those days most groups had their songs written for them. It was all quite new. But only this summer he said to me, Will you ever forgive me, George? (Laughs) He’s such a gentleman! It was nice of him to say that, you know.” - Q, 1988
“I said to the boys, after we’d done a few takes of rather nondescript songs, I said, ‘Come into the control room and have a listen and see what we’ve been doing. And if there’s anything you don’t like, tell us.’ And George was the one who took the leap. And he said, ‘Well, I don’t like your tie for a start.’ And the others were horrified. They thought, God, he’s blown it. But of course, I fell around laughing. I thought it was — it was so cheeky, and so funny that I… you know, he endeared himself to me.” - George Martin, Living In The Material World (x)

Seeing this in Man On The Run made me so happy 🥰
To feel, and a small but great feeling expressed on that date.♡♪
Starting with this, time slipped away from me, darkness pierced me more than ever, as in life certain moments tend to happen, so despite many complex complications, I didn't let it go, but time shrank more than ever and no small rest served to achieve the purpose of this. Well, as every decade, every time existentially we are here more than ever, our souls gathered to feel, to honor, to feel the light of this sweet luminous soul more than ever, beyond what can ever be expressed, it's a joy that we continue to feel, have, and connect more than ever with such a date, with such an event that has occurred, that has arrived, that has marked and left the greatest luminous splendor that has ever been seen or defined with the arrival of him, of our beloved and adored eternally George, it goes beyond what I can ever interpret or complete with this. There is no element, no existential nature that can describe it, we simply feel and see today what it was and what will continue to resurge and store more than ever here, beyond anything, here it will be eternally in the soul, in the being, in what we are, in what it provokes. George, today your arrival is honored, today your eternal light that has seen us and given its unique glory as no other can be or be created for it, what is it really? The feeling, the love, that feeling will be there, reflected in us, what the magnitude glorifies of what he reflects and causes is enormous, it will simply go beyond the existential complexities that existence has seen, life itself? Why express it like that? Well, sometimes one wants to liken the feeling to words, no matter how complex and impossible it is to achieve, that will always be there, what he has done, has achieved, has elevated in me, his eternal being will never be completed in its sentimental complexity, the fact of what it stores, what it complements, what it illuminates in me, what is in the cavity that he has captivated and stored entirely with a bit of his being will go beyond anything, it will be gloriously unique, there is nothing more to say about this, at every minute, second of existence, it is felt, it is had, it is lived, it is breathed here, in the material world that can never leave its being, its reflection, its eternal arrival and luminous guiding splendor of our beings, it is, how to express, how to reflect beyond the feeling that can be sent to him? The reciprocity of his arrival and provocation to us, of his luminous and wonderful eternal existential magnitude for us, simply with the soul, the heart, every element of my being reflected in existence, I send this to you wherever you are, we are with you, you are here wherever you are, eternally during the existence of life, not life, of nothing, you are the amplitude of everything, your content will never be possible to go away, you are a carnal part of here, in every sense, thanks eternally George, day by day, second by second, we feel you and glorify your arrival, my gratitude will never be more possible to see,
since you entered, you merged and fused into my being in the found path to the end of what was my soul and existence to its destination, nothing matters more than this, what it truly represents and will be, so that's it, simply, there won't be more of it
P.S.D: the feeling of what such a time can declare and reflect for me will never be fully realized, i will simply be carried away by what it expresses and what it means to me in my soul, in my being, and I will let things happen
Watching footage of Beatlemania, you can see in the fans’ faces that the euphoria and intensity sometimes turned them into true portraits of “scream queens” from horror cinema. Here I play with what would happen if I took that idea to exploitation movie posters, using song titles from the band and twisting their meaning.
Something I've noticed.
Most of my mutuals never like my art around here.
Not like, downright saying "this is ass" or whatever, but they just never see it or acknowledge it? Which is weird because they like every single other thing that I post. Random thoughts, a reblog, other people's art that I've reblogged, but never my art. It's like it's locked behind this wall and they just never notice it.
And this isn't like, a call out, or an indirect message to someone in specific, or whatever it is that this generation does to avoid confrontation, but something that's been happening for a while now and I cannot stop thinking about it, and I have no one to talk about it.
Ramble ramble ramble, ramble.
Who is the TRUE 5th beatle?
Brian Epstein
Yoko Ono
Pete Best
Stuart Sutcliffe
Billy Shears
Wrongo
I keep seeing essays/headlines/memes addressing the “5th Beatle” and I’ve seen everyone of these options as the 5th beatle so i’m curious to see which is the TRUE 5th beatle. also if you’re curious about who each person is i can explain 😉
Pete recieving 0 votes I'm-
can you draw stu x john?:D /nf
A serving of Lenncliffe
And other things (?)
Them dancing cuz idk, I thought about it after watching Backbeat (1994) and I had to bring it to life somehow
Anyway, Stu in the cartoon because I want him to be included in anything and everything<3
I thought about how he'd fit in the show and i thought it'd be interesting to see an episode where Paul is just unable to play bass and Sti has to step in (well, is made to step in lol). Also, I didn't illustrate it (cuz I got lazy) but I thought it would be fun for him to be included in the sing-alongs as some sort of assistant for Ringo, just being dragged by him into shenanigans, made to wear a tutu or whatever it is that Ringo came up with.
Also sorry if you guys have trouble reading the dialogue XP not everyone has been blessed with pretty handwriting
Here's some extra thingies cuz I doodle these cartoon bugs a lot
Ringo ballet dancer you're so iconic, so sad the animators forgot your rings
Fun fact I did these in between classes because I'm irresponsible (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
he's literally shaped like an illicit temptation. i cannot blame john lennon or anyone else ever for falling for tHIS crime waiting to happen
Ok, am I going mental - where was this scene?!?
It's clearly from AHDN but I've just rewatched it and didn't see it anywhere. Am I losing my marbles?
Why do I feel like this scene was in this film when I used to watch it on repeat when I was 14 but not here now?!
