tegan was born cullen, born to a transphobic father and a mother who disappeared while she was young. after meeting a non-human named reaper in the woods and stealing things from her father to give to her new friend, she got in trouble and reaper got rid of her father.

tegan ended up running away and meeting the sister, taking on the name the brother for the time until her death. after being resurrected, she met a new family and transitioned to female, finally okay with her status as trans.

HEART BEATS SMOKE AU

There’s over 200 of them. They aren’t all human, some of them- the only difference between a human and them is their heart. It strikes randomly and fully.

People have been born with smoke filled hearts, hearts that beat and expel smoke with every single thump. The smoke has a flat color depending on the person, and changes colors to show emotions. Stronger emotions make thicker smoke. Despair even has the capability to crack and shatter ribs. But other than that, the smoke isn’t harmful to anyone. You can breathe it easily, in some rare cases it could even have smells based off of the emotions.

These people are special. They’re alive, and their smoke helps the world. It nourishes the people and plants around them. Of course, there’s always some danger.

Their hearts can be taken out. Doing so won’t kill the person- but it will make them weak, sick, pale... and something far more sinister will be able to eat them. The smoke protects them- the smoke keeps them safe from something far too wrong.

There’s also ways to make the smoke unnoticeable by others, but it could be harmful for their health and it’s almost not worth it. However, it could help them pretend they’re normal. Human or not, they all just want to be normal.
