Known as "Overseer of the Ancients" to some of humankind, and as a furiously brutal beast in battle to mostt, Lunastra is a queen—an empress—and she knows it. But she is not without the ability to show mercy, and she'll (more often than not) lend a helping paw to monsters in need.

There has been... more noise than usual in the given territory as of late, and it's first with a considerable yawn and then a languorous stretching of her limbs that Luna rises to her feet, wary of it all.

But Ashley and Aidan are still asleep, lending a certain stillness to the air (for now; they will undoubtly awaken soon, having regained the energy to fuss), and her initial distrust of the waking world fades somewhat as she tosses a glance their way before she makes a quiet snuffling noise and turns her attention forward once more.

Teo isn't present and thus must be busy right then, but there's no excessive scattering of explosive dust nor any abnormal sense of unease -- so he must be fine. And that in itself is more comforting than most could ever know.

Her mate is okay, her children are okay (and she is too, but that's hardly ever her first concern) -- things are... good, she thinks. Safe.

Maybe not forever, but for now. (And maybe enough to tempt her to lay back down and further catch up on rest.)

Hey Empress on a theoretical note do you hang out with the Queen of The Monsters?

It's with a slight tilt of her head that she responds, slightly puzzled.

"Queen of the monsters?" she unintentionally parrots back, her mind first immediately going to image of various Rathians she has encountered over her years, but dismissing them a moment later, as the wording is not quite right.

Lifting a paw, she gently pulls her claws through part of her mane as she thinks, attempting to recall such phrasing uttered by passerby, humans, wyverians, hunters of any sort, so on and so forth...

"--ah."

The idea almost makes her laugh, not so much that this apparent-queen would be viewed as unworthy, but more-so because of what it is. A moth. (And a laugh does not escape her, but only barely, showing some fangs in an impulsive gesture just for a moment.)

"I am afraid not. As I understand, she is like many of her kind in that she is covered in dust. And for better or worse, any kind of dust is rather..."

She gently exhales, a small burst of flame exiting her maw.

"--flammable."

The idea of her fearing any silly Hunters prompts a somewhat-deep scowl to grace her expression, darkening it as she bares her fangs just-so whilst rising to stand on all fours.

She tosses her head, explosive powder shaken from her mane and settling in the area around her.

“I don’t know who any of those people are. And let me be clear: While their actions can be horrible,  Hunters do not scare me.”

when on this hellsite but not this blog, i’m usually on this multimuse rp blog instead, as i have the energy and inspiration and blahblahblah for the muses there more often/consistently.

i only note this to explain where i am, not to pressure anyone into following. (or if someone really needed to get ahold of me for some reason but didn’t have my discord, i guess?) but i will say that while most of the muses there are canon ones from various series, i do have two mh ocs. a pink rathian, taifuu. and an elderfrost gammoth, sukouru.

i don’t usually write much of either (taifuu comes up as a subject with a specific friend a lot more) and sukouru is... painfully underdeveloped, admittedly, but hey, they’re still both options.

i also have a personal blog that i remade a while back, but that is something i would only give out to close friends as it’s partially a vent blog (some of the subjects of said venting relating to severe mental illness and thus could potentially be very triggering for some) as well as a ~~normal personal one.

How do you feel about Dodogama?

The species name escapes her for a handful of seconds, and her brows draw together in mild frustration before she remembers.

“Oh--! I cannot say I know any of them personally, but they’re fairly cute, I think.

One doesn’t see them much in the Old World, but I hear my opinion is a common one in the New World. ...for the most part. Some see any Dodogama as a pest, and...”

Her voice trails off with a shrug of her shoulders.

“...--Well, I can’t say I’d necessarily just sit by and let one undergo harm if it wasn’t doing anything wrong beforehand.”

Excuse me miss, just a researcher. Would you allow me to give this to you. *its a very heavy pouch of gold coins* I know elders have hoards and well we've heard you've had Cubs so we though why not give them a bit of something.

Heavy though it may be, she holds the pouch up with next to no effort, blinking at it curiously a few times.

The subject of dragon hoards prompts her to fix a suspecting glance at the other person, though it soon goes back to the bag.

“They’re still so little... I don’t think they need more than a few coins for now, as they wouldn’t know what to do with more nor how to value it. 

But when they’re a little older, they may have the rest. I don’t intend to keep from them what is rightfully theirs.”

So did you find it funny when your cubs chased a laser pointer onto your mate?

She’s unable to entirely hide the amusement in her expression, try as she might to disguise it with a sudden cough and clearing of the throat.

“Truth be told... A little bit, perhaps. But we’ve had a talk with them since then why that isn’t the nicest thing to do and why it shouldn’t be done again.”

*gently knocks and, after getting permission to enter, brings in a fully cooked and prepared Aptonoth* I'm sorry, if I'm disturbing anything madam. But with all the excitement over the new family members I wanted to make sure that everyone, especially you, is able to keep up their strength with the little gesture of mine. *bows* I hope everything is to your liking.

Luna cannot say that she’s particularly enthusiastic about all of the visitors, for while most have meant no real harm, it’s still a considerable amount of people she isn’t familiar with prattling on and on whilst hanging around her children.

But if Teo allows it, she will too -- for now.

The gift warrants a brief bow of her head in gratitude, for the offering is tempting enough to prompt a closer inspection, and she cannot pick up on any telltale indication of tampering of ill-intent.

She won’t dig into it just yet, if only for the sake of being polite, but she suspects that’ll change soon, if the distant pitter-patter of Stra cub footfalls is anything to go by.

“I’m sure it shall be just fine. You have my gratitude; It’s--” A quiet laugh. “--a relief to not have to fuss with dinner every now and then.”

Her eyebrows raise, but she otherwise doesn’t outwardly show any sign of surprise or displeasure.

“Good to know,” she begins, not unkindly. “I shall remember your name. And thank you. Their lives will be as good as what is within my power.”

She gives a derisive snort, a subsequent huff of air sending acrid, black smoke from her nostrils.

“It doesn’t.”

Which is true! ...for the most part, that is. 

But her sense of humour and the like is decidedly more dry than that of her mate; She’s more likely to torch any attempted offering of catnip than to allow it to be near her.

Anyone and anything relating to Hunters sets her on edge, and though she doesn’t quite allow her wings to flare out just yet, she does visibly tense up and take a step away.

There’s no explosive powder scattered (yet), but there is a considerable pause before she responds.

“How kind of you.”

Her voice is soft, distant -- not implicit of rude behaviour or thought but cautious all the same.

“I.. cannot remember the last time I tasted champagne.” she murmurs as she finally accepts the offered bottle, casting a wary glance at the other.

“Your gift is appreciated. Thank you.”

She won’t partake just yet, given that she doesn’t exactly trust it to not be a trap, for the drink to be poisoned or anything like that -- but if it is deemed safe later, then she might.

...She’d have to keep it out of the hands of her children, though.

Do you ever rest your head inbetween the space of Teo's horns?

The inquiry prompts a downward slant of her ears, less due to any actual displeasure with the idea and more due to finding it a touch.. awkward.

“...For a moment or two on occasion, maybe, but it wouldn’t exactly be the most comfortable thing for either of us. For one, Teo is larger than myself; If he wasn’t laying down, I’d have to tip my head up at a bizarre angle to manage it.”

My goodness I must say your cubs are simply adorable! How do the two seem to be getting along? I assume they must be handfuls like all children, but delightful ones nonetheless! Are they close as siblings?

There’s a sense of pride that wells up in her chest at their compliments, and though she is not naive enough to accept them in their entirety without considering an ulterior motive on their part, she cannot say she suspects any of it to be false flattery.

“They really are.”

She chuckles quietly, nearly falling into the old habit of folding her arms across her chest, only for her hands to settle on her hips instead.

“They get along as well as one can expect from siblings, I suppose. There is some bickering and fussing, but overall? I think we’re quite lucky to not have to deal with many problems in regards to their behaviours.

From what I have observed, they seem to be fairly close, and there is no reason for that to change. ...though, I wonder if that will change as they grow older...”

2. this doesn’t seem to be much of a problem in the mhrp comm. on here, but as a general statement prompted by my past rp experiences: do not attempt to manipulate me ooc. don’t try to get me to feel this or that or whatever else in some kind of underhanded way. if there is an issue, speak to me directly about it. (as long as you’re polite, which is a fair expectation i think, i swear i won’t bite your head off.)

i do not have the energy or patience to deal with that bullshit irl, nevermind rp. i will not make myself try to sift through manipulative nonsense. i can and will cut off any and all communication with you if i catch you doing that.
