tw: abuse themes // I never have really written before but I needed to process my emotions somehow. Ignore that it sounds like a cheesy poem some middle schooler wrote.. I’m a stem person alright? .... also this is not finished. Just thoughts on a page.

You were my light
So dazzling I felt your warmth on my skin
It filled me up and squeezed me gently
Like a familiar hug that had been gone for a long time
Your light grew stronger
As mine grew weaker
You were a hot pan I picked up too soon
Yet you kissed the burns it made
“All better”
I believed you
The gentle squeeze was no longer a hug
Instead I found my wrists enveloped in your hands
Unable to break free
And yet still
your warmth drew me in closer
And I was sweating as the flames grew stronger around me
So intoxicating
You were a drug that I kept coming back for
it felt so good, so right
The high erased the marks you had given me
Then the crash came
Your grip on my wrists grew stronger
As you braced me for impact
Death grip
Your hands to my neck
You watched with a twisted joy
As the life from my eyes grew dimmer
Your hands solely keeping me alive
Barely
Breaking only for a small gasp of air
But the air was so beautiful
I had forgotten whose hands were holding me down
