"Fat Cat" a collaboration with @eastari. Hiding amongst the lines of this image is a magnificent hunting machine developed from years of evolution to be one of the worlds greatest hunting beasts; The domesticated cat. Sometimes an environmental scourge sometimes cute and cuddly. Same creature either way and an example of mans imprint on the face of our planet. "Hey Picasso, is the figure really necessary? Your boy Hoffman said it was." A collaboration with @lexicutcher. Thinking through more of the essay about Ad Reinhardt from last night. It talked about Reinhardt spending some of his time sitting through Hans Hoffman’s lectures. I wonder if it was a way to intellectually map out where he stood with Hoffman and his followers? A way to know where he was going by bumping off his contemporaries who thought in a different direction than he did. Still parsing together who this Ad Reinhardt guy was and his influence over geometric abstraction from his early work and his more mature work. The text did reference a book Reinhardt wrote in very organized notes. That will be my next stop.
