Aroace Grace AND BloodyMary are BOTH great and fun ways to enjoy Grace as a character and I would like people to be nice to each other over these different ways of enjoying PHM. Block button and scrolling exist and it should be peace and love on planet fandom. How wonderful that we can all enjoy this media in different ways without claiming that certain ways of enjoying it are bad and wrong

Hey Tumblr, does anyone have any like,,, science on why shipping characters is a thing people do?

Just genuinely curious. What like,,, logical or evolutionary value does it have for my brain to simply imagine fictional characters in relationships? Is it projection? Is it the joy of storytelling? Where does the fangirly screaming and flustered kicking of the legs come from?? I genuinely would love to know what like,,, the psychology behind shipping is...

Because for me; of course sometimes it's projection, but sometimes it's really not and i still get all flustered and giddy when i read a good story about my ship or see cute fanart or a really fitting deeply meaningful headcanon.

OKAY SO AFTER PRETTY SHITTY RESEARCH because the only people looking into this are unfortunately tiktok booktok girlies who think shipping means you want something to be canon I HAVE FOUND A SEMI REASONABLE RESPONSE

Due to the way our brains interact with fiction, certain sections trigger with certain aspects that we imagine, which allows us to formulate real feelings for things that don't exist. The story a pairing gives is compelling because of these real feelings, similar to how you would be happy if a friend got into a relationship, however since you still recognize that they are objects with no sense of boundaries or social norms to follow, your brain is allowed to send out these feelings with no restraint which is why the feeling often comes off as more extreme than it would if you were talking about a friend.

So here's the thing: No there won't be. No there won't be because of idiotic bigots like you who take away from trans men all the time. Even confirmed transmasc characters get "well actually what if they're this thing instead of transmasc?" while transfem characters are allowed to just EXIST.

Sure they get the occasional "She didn't say that she was transfem" but not NEARLY to the extent transmasc characters do.

You guys have such an innate hatred of trans men that even a fictional character causes you to go rabid and tell every transmasc you see to just "wait for your turn stop being greedy".

It's not fair that we have to wait for any decent representation. It's not fair that we get accused of being fetishists for contributing to the representation of transfems. It isn't fair that people can call for a mass murder on us for simply being transmasc.

I hate being transmasc because of this, I hate identifying with he/him pronouns, I hate even considering the idea of physically transitioning because I know I'll never have a true community, because the LGBTQIA+ community and the TRANS community specifically hate us and want us gone just like the conservatives do. I just want to be comfortable in who I am and no one will leave us the fuck alone.

I read Crowfeather's trial for fun and wow... It's one of the best stories that I've seen in the series up until now. I was worried that it would be a book of redeeming Crowfeather but it was really him having to make the best out of the mess he caused which is both more interesting and more impactful. I actually, like, cared about Breezepelt. That's super impressive.

Unfortunately the writing, from a technical standpoint, was not as strong as I would've liked. But, at the same time, it really makes you *feel* like Crowfeather. Also the millions of stoats was kinda funny. Like cats were literally covered in stoats.

Seriously though him, Breezepelt, Heathertail and Nightcloud are all in my like top 10-15 characters now what an actually emotionally interesting book.

See, I want to read it purely for more Breezepelt but I've heard it undermines a lot of the blatant abuse Breezepelt suffered and DOES paint Crowfeather in a better light than he deserves
