I know I said I wouldn’t talk about TADC much here anymore but that was when I was in a slump because drama like this stresses me out big time.
I think my points are valid, and more aligned with healthy communication with other people. Situations like these with so many variables being added can make anyone overwhelmed, emotional and stressed (like me) it can be hard to truly process what’s going on.
I guess I will say a couple things I believe in bullet points. Here’s my bluesky post too since I may have said some other stuff there.
I really don’t want to comment on the TADC shit because my emotions are very complicated?

⚪️ I do not believe any of the VAs are bad people, let alone racist. I do not believe Goose or Glitch are bad people. The only bad people I see in this situation are the fucking fans that went to bat for the “right side” immediately without even thinking. Because they genuinely caused the most harm here than anything.
But at worst, I see ignorance. At best, stupidity. And both can always be fixed with communication, acknowledgement, and time
⚪️ What Ashely and Micheal (Zooble’s and Jax’s VAs) did was bad. Period. It being 7 years ago only affects one thing, and it’s not how bad it was. From my perspective, 7 years ago makes it hard to judge them as people because most people aren’t even the same person from 7 years ago. Adult or not. However, when someone is questioned about this obviously harmful and ignorant display, people are actively entitled to an explanation and/or an apology.
⚪️ No one, specifically my fellow black fans, DO NOT have to accept that apology. Doesn’t matter how long ago it was, people are finding out NOW and deserve an explanation on it. Do not speak over or disregard or black, or POC TADC fans for that matter, on their takes about a situation that actively includes something that affects them negatively. Non POC should be sitting down and listening and learning, not being shitheads.
And let’s be real, Micheal and Ashley aren’t gonna lose their careers because of this. I don’t believe they deserve to anyways. But what will happen, and has already happened is losing the trust of fans or their support entirely. That’s a consequence that just happens because they did something, that broke the hearts of people and rightly so. Me included. I was wild for them or was fans of them tbh but nonetheless I was disappointed. And I and many others are.

I say this because some have used the apologies given by Ashley and Micheal as fuel to harass them, and I just plainly don’t agree with that in so many ways. I feel that most people currently putting their two cents into this situation are just people who want to be mad at someone and pick sides and act like shitheads.
⚪️ TADC is not like Harry Potter. This is very specific but I’ve seen this comparison one two many times. While yes, you can boycott the two, I believe there’s a specific difference.
You can boycott glitch or TADC and Gooseworx because you do not agree with the creator or the VAs and that’s perfectly fine. No one can police you on how you spend your time or money!
The main difference is where that money goes. People boycott Harry Potter for many reasons, but mainly because the money JKR gets from it is directly funneled into anti-trans legislation. The money Glitch gets from TADC goes to its workers and other indie artists they may be working with and of course, Gooseworx herself.
And if you don’t want to support her, you don’t have to support the show. And that’s a fair thing to want.
⚪️ DO NOT HARASS THE VAS OR THE CREATORS. Good lord I can’t believe I have to say that. Look, it’s one thing to want a response about something troubling from their past. ITS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING TO SEND DEATH TREATS AND GORE TO THEM. And just being shitty overall? Like what are you trying to do?
⚪️ Get better communication skills, the whole of you. God. And be nicer to each other.
⚪️ Call out fans you see being toxic. Because a lot of fans have been showing their entire ass during all of this shit, mostly in defense of the VAs or Goose and let me tell you, she doesn’t vibe with you from what I can tell in her response lol. Especially with the rampant anti-blackness in most fandom spaces, call that shit out when you see it no matter who you are. POC fans should not have to worry about being disrespected and insulted just for speaking their mind and plainly existing.
Okay I think that’s all I wanted to say. These are my thoughts on what’s happened from what I know. Let it be known is that I am very critical of what the VAs do because like cmon man you should know better. But I’m of the belief that people can learn and change while also believing that they’ve lost a lot of my respect.
To be quite honest, a lot of things said about this situation can cohexist because that’s just how things are in this world in general. Multiple things can be true all at the same time. And nothing is ever black and white.
I feel like this entire situation can be critiqued from so many angles for so many reasons because things shouldn’t have swelled this badly to the point that people are being doxxed.
But if you have questions on more specific things, I don’t mind answering. Genuinely. Just don’t get to rough with me because I will curse you out.
job, work, school, etc, all that should never be the first priority. first priority should always be to be a bit of warmth for you, when there's not a lot of warmth left to go around
