Introductory Post

To Be Loved is a story that I have had conceptualized since November 2023. Like most authors, the story came to me in a dream. Of course, it didn't really make a ton of sense, and so those first few draft ideas hold little to no weight in the face of what it has become. The novel is about 24 y.o Ian Corvus Jr., who just goes by Junior, reconnecting with and falling in love with his childhood best friend Chase Atticus. However, Junior has a secret that complicates everything. He's not fully human. How is he expected to fit into this world, for which he does not belong? Would Chase still see him the same, if he knew that the boy he met in the forest all those years ago, could very well be a monster?

Some Concept Designs for Junior himself. Some of these are experimental ideas, others are more reliant on external things in his story like his dads fashion (See A2, B1, and B2). Or more secretive, practical for concealing his whings (A1 and the C set). It's just a handful I sketched up tonight.

miles was weak. miles was easy to hurt and a crybaby and all his worst qualities. miles was scared and scarred and shouldnt have ever been born. the one who left west side island that day was tails.

the poem i drew for is "i am icarus" by an-sifakah - check it out since i cut some of it for the sake of the art

finished the wip i shared before, got lazy after a while lol (also spreading my "forces had potential" agenda)

anyway - tails angst!! i wanted to explore an idea that tails cant move on from his childhood on west side island. or rather, miles cant move on. sometimes i think of my past self as a separate person, so i wondered how would that apply to tails, if it did? and then boom - hes tails. he left miles behind him or at least tried. because he cant ever get rid of a part of himself, but he can pretend he did. until it comes out again

since i used the poem, i also squeezed how sonic affected tails life and self perception :'3 and im always a sucker for sonic = sun imagery lol
