as much as i love 2/2 more than anything, part of me wishes we were given more in relation to how ren deals with the fact akechi is essentially about to die forever, for the second time. i want to see more of ren’s inner turmoil about saving akechi vs saving everyone else.

i cant ever put into words how i feel about third semester. genuinely the most perfect thing thats ever happened in any video game ever. SHUAKE😭😭😭😭😭

Ren gives Akechi new gloves, and Goro treasures them so much that he constantly blows dust off them and adjusts them with great care. When he buries his face in them, he inhales and feels better because they're so soft and pleasant to the touch. And they remind him of Ren. It's a huge gesture of care, because Akechi's hands are sensitive, and his old gloves were already itchy. And you can't imagine how much Goro kissed Ren's face when he first gave him those gloves! Even Ren didn't expect it, but it was very sweet. No matter how grumpy Akechi can be, in the post-canon, he adores kissing Ren.

Goro, for his part, doesn't know what to give Ren. He gives him bouquets of flowers quite often, constantly stocks their refrigerator with groceries(and buys Ren a lot of goodies, because he truly loves to spoil him). But Goro can't think of anything when it comes to more serious gifts. But he mentally memorizes every little thing Ren mentions and makes sure to give them in the future, no matter the price. I love the headcanons where Akechi actually becomes very affectionate with Ren, whether he wants it or not.

I really think this is important in Shuake's relationship, because when Akechi receives so much love and care from Ren, he doesn't want it to be one-sided. A competition of who can give the most gifts and who loves each other the most. Although, as I said, it will be hard for Goro at first, but he will soon get used to it. ;)

one thing i love in particular about shuake is Both of their possessiveness and jealousy.

on one hand akechi is extremely jealous over how popular ren is, how many people seem to confess to him, the people he seems to attract All The Time. and ren is jealous over akechis fangirls, the fanmail he recieves and all the girls who seem to fawn over him.

akechi will deny his jealousy until the end of time (or until ren teases it out of him enough). but ren is more open, more outwardly possessive.

currently obsessed with the idea of shuake adopting a pet together. sure, ren has had Far Too Many years of experience from living with morgana but i want them to adopt a real cat!

i think akechi would be the type of person who would frown at first when ren brings home an adopted kitten one night (claiming that “he just couldn’t leave it!”), telling him to take it back and they can’t keep it. but ren would catch him snuggling up next to the thing a few weeks later, and sneaking him extra treats when ren isn’t watching. and of course, akechi would deny this forever.

if i was even just Slightly better at drawing i would love to make a shuake visual novel. been back into komahina since dr2x2 release and i’m getting reminded of all of the old kmhn vns i played back in the day 🥺

i wonder if the rest of the phantom thieves ever knew that akechi was ren’s wish in maruki’s reality? they never asked him, and it’s not like ren is the type of person to unpromptedly share something like that.

i wonder if they just assumed akechi survived the engine room, that’s why he was alive in february. if they just assumed he only just disappeared after 2/2, they couldn’t understand why ren just assumes that he’s dead.

despite this, i dont think ren would ever tell them. just another something to be a secret, just between him and akechi

i can never really get behind fics that depict akechi and ren breaking up, because i dont really ever think it Could happen. i think they would truly be with eachother forever, i don't think they could ever let eachother go after everything they've been through, their claws are too sharp, too deep into eachother.

despite this, and despite knowing this deep down, ren still fears one day that akechi will up and run away. and akechi fears one day ren will open his eyes and realise that he's an awful person (he's not, never to ren)

i always go back and forth about what i think post-canon shuake do for work.

i really do love the idea that ren goes to college for psychology to eventually work as a therapist. he’s extremely empathetic and i think he would want to help people that were like him.

i always sort of go between thoughts of if akechi would return to detective work after it all because on one hand he was an excellent detective, but also i feel as if he would have bad associations with the field and would just not want to associate with it anymore. in my brain i like to torture him by giving him a shitty office job he spends the rest of his life at (lovingly)

however i Do Really Love shuake working with the shadow opps headcanons. oughh

shuake are such an intimate and sappy couple sometimes.

akechi is Very clingy, but he never wants to admit it and probably never will. ren is more openly clingy, acting on his intimate impulses to hold akechi whenever he can whilst akechi pretends not to enjoy it. they’re always touching one way or another, whether its ren resting his hand on akechis thigh whilst sitting side by side, always being as close to eachother as possible or rens casual touches to akechis shoulder when he speaks.

akechi is often the little spoon when cuddling because he struggles with initiating affection but they switch sometimes. they mostly fall asleep with ren holding akechi from behind. akechi likes getting his hair played with/brushed by ren before bed as it helps him sleep. he often struggles with nightmares, but so does ren, so they know exactly how to soothe eachother out of them.

they share clothes a Lot. despite having pretty different styles their wardrobe becomes one after moving in together. goro specifically has a habit of Only wearing ren’s shirts when he sleeps. bonus points if it’s the shirt he wore throughout the previous day.

i love their domestic fluff way too much
