Hi Everyone!  

I want to thank you for 16+years of So and Sew Plushies!  I had so much fun making plushies for you for so long.  It's such a big part of my life and I'll never forget it and the friends I've made along the way.

Wait, is this goodbye?

Sort of.  

So and Sew Plushies seems to have come to a natural close.  Things were slowing down even before COVID effed the world, and that certainly didn't help.  

As my business slowed, the rest of my life kicked up - here's what's been going on!

~I'm pursuing a life-long passion of organizing and have started a new business called Messicality - Professional Organizing.  I absolutely love it and it's definitely one of the things I was put on this earth to do.

~My kiddo has started their school career and I want to have time available to support them.

So what does this mean for So and Sew Plushies?  Are we done?

~I consider this a soft close.  My Etsy store has been paired down, but it's still open and I'll still take small commissions and orders.  I'm no longer tabling at ConnectiCon.  I'll consider plushie commissions if one comes in, but my time is precious and I just don't have enough time to get into the workshop as much these days.  It's not fair to wait 6 months for a commission.

I'm still crafty and have developed a new love for crochet!  I've been playing with Amigurumi and knitting hats on loom hoops.  I enjoy sewing and I've been making PortaPockets, some masks still (ugh), and other crafty projects.

This isn't the last you'll here from me, or if it is, assume that I'm happy and living my best life.

I've loved you all and all the time with So and Sew Plushies.

(Made July 2020) Here's a personal plushie of a little kid who LOVES Mickey and Minnie.  His favorite headband is Mouse Ears with a Minnie bow.  So, I made a custom outfit and plushie for him! His outfit is red and blue with stars on the jeans - for Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey - he has Mickey Ears with a velcro strip on it so he can switch from plain Mickey Ears, to a Minnie Bow, to a Sorcerer's Hat.  He can store his hats in his Mickey backpack! (Made September 2020) Aqualad stirred up a bit on controversy in my plushie world. With Superheros and their tighty-tight superhero outfits, I argue with myself - felt or paint?  Felt or paint.  Use felt and risk the suit looking bulky and weird?  Or paint the suit and have it look and BE skin-tight.  I've done felt suits for Batman, Superman, Nightcrawler, etc. and some look cartoony, some look like they're wearing oven mitts.  Aqualad is literally wearing a skin-tight wet suit and close-cropped hair, which I would paint anyway...blah blah blah.
