World’s Largest Stone Buddha
An ominous colored statue, this gigantic Buddha is the largest in the world. Called the Leshan Giant Buddha, the construction of this enormous carved deity began during the Tang Dynasty between 618AD and 907AD. What’s truly fascinating about this statue, aside from its size, is that it was sculpted directly out of the face of a cliff.
At the deity’s feet is the confluence of three rivers, the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi, located in the southern part of the Sichuan province near the city of Leshan in China. This incredible Buddha is also the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. The statue’s home is the Mount Emei Scenic Area which has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
There are two ways to get a close-up view of this impressive sight. One is to take the perilous path down the cliff face, walk in front of the Buddha and climb up the other side, as the people in the picture are doing. A more relaxing method is to take a tour boat and sail down the river. He’ll be waiting for you.

The Scale of Utopian Worlds | Jean-François Rauzier | Via
Jean-François Rauzier was immediately captivated by numerical photography when it penetrated the professional market 15 years ago. He has been exploring the multiple opportunities offered by computer’s retouching since then, turning himself into a “virtual” painter.
In 2002, he created the “Hyperphoto”, a concept which enables him to deal with the impossible: to combine both infinitely big and infinitely small things in one same image, out of time.To simulate the illusion of reality, Jean-François Rauzier first had to cope with all the inherent limits inherent of the photographic and technological equipment.
He found his way by juxtaposing, duplicating, twisting images with Photoshop, making it possible for him to reproduce human vision more accurately. This way, he generated a genuine numerical puzzle, in which the pieces, cut out, “drawn again”, come up along on top of the imagination of the artist.

HARAJUKU CHURCH, Tokyo, Japan by Architect Ciel Rouge Creation
"The architecture for this Protestant Church is centered by a wide nave arranged with six arches and a bell tower that symbolically lay importance on the seven elements, the seven days of creation, the seven churches of the Orient… It creates the impression of a biblical open sky image from which the light amid the Holy Spirit descends upon the followers and worshippers. The softly curved arches specifically designed for fine acoustics also remind of a hand overwhelming the crowd. For the use as an authentic concert hall facility the temple displays the comfort of lodges discreetly positioned right from within the arches."

The $500,000 Leica designed by Jony Ive
You can get your hands on a Leica M camera that has been specially designed by Jony Ive himself. It will be a one of a kind camera and will cost between $500,000 to $750,000 at a charity auction. The proceeds will then go towards the (RED) charity that Apple has helped for years now, by making special edition red versions of its devices such as the iPod.
The camera is made from laser machined aluminium and apparently it took 85 days and over 500 models to come up with the finished product.
