No but it's SO revealing about the mindset of conservative/"pro-life" or even fascist women (honestly any member of a group siding with their oppressors). They really do convince themselves that they will be treated better than everyone else because they're "one of the good ones", and because their worldview is so fundamentally self-centered they're totally fine with that. They are just fine with being protected at the expense of others who they look down on and scapegoat.

i am totally going to come across as a boomer in this post but as an engineer it's common sense to not build systems with a single point of failure. and i'm starting to realize that our usage of the smart phone is exactly that. a single point of failure. the calling/texting is the implied function of the smartphone, which is fine. that's what it's built for. but nowadays we don't think to keep a physical map or atlas or gps unit in our car because our phone has google maps. we don't keep address books anymore because it's all stored in our contacts. i serve customers who no longer carry a wallet/physical card because it's all on their phone. this is literally a single point of failure. if you lose or break your phone when you are in a foreign place you are fucking screwed. maybe you're still screwed even in your home town because so many people have become accustomed to using a smart phone to take them anywhere.

Yo I feel like the idea that the only historical women who counted are the ones who defied society and took on the traditionally male roles is… not actually that feminist. Most important: Spend the money you have on a motel. Churches probably will not actually help and shelters can be dangerous or turn you away. At a motel you have free breakfast, access to running water, and a lockable place to sleep. Do not waste money on a gym membership like the popular version of this post says to do, YMCA memberships are like $40.
2. Contact family and friends. Now is not the time to worry about being a burden. Your survival and safety comes first and that is all that matters, anyone worth having in your life will agree.
3. Start a gofundme. Even if someone can’t offer you a place to stay, they might be willing to toss out $5 so you can eat today.
4. Libraries have free wifi. Apply to any and all jobs you can think of if you aren’t already working.

As a person who’s currently homeless and living in a hotel, I would like to add:
Locate nearby food donation places. Find soup kitchens in the area that offer free hot meals. Find churches and organizations that give away a free box of food once a month. Invest in a can opener and cheap, microwave safe plates and bowls. You probably won’t be able to use all the food that’s donated given that you will likely only have a microwave to cook in, but the less money you have to spend on food, the more money you have for shelter.
Invest in a bus pass, or other form of public transportation like the train. They are usually really affordable (monthly bus pass in my city is $55), and will save you tons on gas, vehicle maintenance, car payments, and car insurance.
Consider starting to donate plasma. If you’re in good enough health, donating plasma can help bring in as much as several hundred extra dollars per month.
Find the people you can trust to share your situation with, and don’t be shy about asking for help. Most people are more compassionate than judgemental, and will likely be willing to help in small ways. Every tiny little bit counts.

I gotta say, it was a pleasant surprise that it took until about 3k to start seeing discourse in the notes. And I'd like to add that religion, culture and society are all different angles of the same subject, just with different connotations attached. This isn't meant to be a haha funny relatably upset post fyi. Like this is just straight up something I'm saying. People do not treat customer service employees like humans as much as they should. I've had a man hit me in the back with a bag of scented pinecones to get my attention to tell me he found them when I said I didn't know if they were sold out since I hadn't been at work in a week, that man months later was complaining about me to a coworker, he recognized me half a year later despite having completely changed my look and brought it up like it was funny. I've had a woman tell me to my face that I was useless because I didn't have an easy solution to finding a price on something before demanding i lift the giant, heavy tent into her cart for her despite being half her size, and she didn't even buy it. I've had people ask me to open a product that I am not allowed to open, only to do it right in front of me when I say its not allowed. I've had people laugh at me when I said I was the one who was assisting them with something and scream at me when I said I couldn't assist with something. I've had to uncomfortably chuckle along when someone makes a joke about how I should know everything in the store because I didn't know if they were genuinely just joking or not. People just shove past or into me, or keep pushing their cart at me when I dont even notice them, because they expect me to move. The most fucked up part? These people are always completely polite to me when I'm just another customer in the store. I've had someone who told me I should just quit my job while on the clock later politely say excuse me and talk about the weather when I was simply buying chips out of uniform. In the same god damn day. The list goes on and on and on. The fact is that even if you don't personally dehumanize a customer service employee, so many people DO.
