I am not okay with using people for kink that have not consented to it. I am literally so chill with any kink, but irl consent (ie., idc what you do in fantasy or fiction) must be present. It also deeply bothers me how many people pull the "okay now ask the average African American how they feel about gay and trans people" as a gotcha, to try to act as though Black people specifically hate and are oppressing queer and trans people (and as if we just, AREN'T those things too).

Buddy ask the average White American how they feel about gay and trans people, since we're taking the census and the piss. Hell, look at the people in charge currently pushing anti trans and anti queer legislation and tell me how they identify. Look at the racial demographics of our last election and tell me who you think is out here going rah rah for the gays and theys.

The audacity to suggest that my entire community is homophobic (I.e., you spend zero time around Black queer and trans folk) but somehow yours is worthy of a closer, more nuanced look... Really some OG white supremacy, actually! reminder to all disabled people that you’re allowed to tell people “i can’t do that” about stuff you can ‘technically’ do but which harms you or requires a period of recovery or preparatory rest etc. you don’t have to explain the complex nuances of your condition to anybody who demands it. i’ve found it’s honestly better to give the least amount of info about your symptoms unless you trust a person a lot. you hold the power over your health information. you choose whether or not to share the details of your condition with people who might not understand.

This year has been the year of me realizing that things like

"racists shouldn't be comfortable being racist"

"saying the n word is not funny nor acceptable no matter what"

"hanging with white supremacists makes you complicit with their white supremacy", and

"no amount of being queer cancels out being racist"

are all apparently things that are just... Too hard to grasp?

And it's really wild because it exposes who thinks they're the ones being pointed out. Because I've never in my life felt the need to defend someone's right to be racist to someone else. Like... Who are y'all fighting for? Who is this imaginary other group that Needs To Be Protected, so badly, that racism just Has To Happen? That it just Can't Be Responded To? And why do y'all always think that We have to be the sacrifice for that?

What CAN I ask you to do? If I can't ask you to kick bigots out your spaces, if I can't ask you to ask questions or hold peers accountable, if I can't ask you to read books or self reflect or give up the occasional form of entertainment... What can I ask of you? How are you gonna help me? Why should I trust you have my best interest in mind when you aren't willing to do ANYTHING that suggests allyship? Why do you think I should trust you?
