Calcutta
Inspired by the spice markets of India, with notes of rare Pandanus flower, Motia Attar, Indian Attars, Spices... Warm, sensual and unusual. The smell of Pandanus is unmistakable, but very uncommon in mainstream perfumery due to cost and availability. The attar called Kewra sells for around 115.00 pr ounce while the essential oils is around 350-400 pr ounce. It is not the most expensive natural essence, but of such a limited availability, it would be impossible to use it in commercial perfumery. One of the reasons I love my work as an independent perfumer is my ability to source and use these rare materials.
