When you're crying (Ft. Murr, Figaro, and Heathcliff)
I don't think Murr is the best person to cheer someone up - at least in a general sense. He can be insensitive at times and has a habit of running his mouth. Tact did not exist in his vocabulary most of the time. If he finds you upset, he might just sour your mood even more with his constant pestering and questions. Soon, he plops down and listens to you get mad at him.
He watches you vent with a smile on his face, humming as you take out your frustrations on him. He's not really bothered by it; after all, he pissed off countless people in his life. It's nothing new.
Once you exhaust yourself and don't have anymore anger left to vent, he grins and closes one of his eyes as if saying 'you'll let me get away with it, right?' How familiar. In the back of your head, you hear Shylock's voice calling him 'loathsome Murr' again.
"Well? Did you get it all out if your chest?" He questions you with eager eyes. You can't help but just sigh in exasperation as he comes closer and starts nibbling on your hand - like a playful cat that wants attention.
"Ahaha! Sometimes you just need to burst! Cry a river and explode like a volcano! After that, everything would settle and cool off. It's interesting how our minds and hearts work, right?"
You ask if he had ever snapped like you did. He tilts his head, "I can't say I have! Or maybe I did~? I'm living a long life, so who knows!"
You sit there for a while, watching Murr float around in mid-air and do some magic. His spells were flashy and eye-catching as always, but...
"This doesn't mean I'll let you get off easily."
"Ehhh~ But I thought you forgave me?"
"No way." Despite your words, a smile slowly appears on your face. "Take responsibility, you stray cat."
You'll feel Figaro sit down right next to you, wearing a gentle expression on his face. It's supposed to be a familiar sight - the image of a kind and weak doctor from the south is something he maintains well. However, there's just something different about the way he looks and talks to you during your moment of weakness.
"Want to tell me about it? Good 'ol Dr. Figaro is here to listen." He chuckles. If you don't want to say anything, he shrugs before patting your head. He won't leave though. He'll stay beside you until you've calmed down. "That's it. Just let it out."
If you do tell him, then he'll patiently listen before trying to cheer you up. If you want some advice, then you can ask for some too. He's lived a long time and experienced many things. He may have the answer you're looking for.
In his mind, Figaro's glad he settled in the Southern country. If he were still considered a Northern wizard, perhaps he wouldn't have this. You, holding his hand and relying on him. Hundreds of years ago, he did not know how to give comfort. He did not know how to be kind. He might have thought that the tears he's seeing now were just a sign of weakness. Well, he still has his Northern roots but things right now aren't bad, right? After all, he gets to hold and comfort you like this.
"Oh, I know what will cheer you up! Let's go to Shylock's bar and have a drink!"
"...You just want an excuse to drink more, don't you?"
I imagine that Heathcliff is the least calm when dealing with a crying person. Especially if it's you. Just seeing the tears streaming down your face is enough to make him freeze in place for a while. Then, he slowly starts to approach, afraid that he'll scare you.
"I-Is everything alright? What's wrong, [Name]?"
He will grab a handkerchief out of his pocket and wipe your tears away himself. His expression looks pained too, as if he hated seeing you so sad. He'll rub your back soothingly and let you vent. Heath seems like the type to whisper assurances as well.
After you've calmed down a little, he'll sit you down and make you some tea. Or if you don't like tea, then he'll make you your favorite drink coupled with some snacks. Crying and venting your frustrations out can be exhausting, so now he wants you to relax.
He'll talk to you about anything and everything, especially light-hearted topics that would make you smile. Internally, Heath will sigh in relief once he sees you're feeling better. If you thank him for his efforts, you'll see him get a bit embarrassed. "It was nothing, really. You don't have to thank me. It's just...when you feel sad, I feel sad too. If I could at least help those that are precious to me and comfort them...then I'll do it."
That small, shy smile he gives you is enough to make your heart skip a beat. "I'm glad you're feeling better." He'll lean in and give you a kiss on the forehead.
"Oh, did I surprise you? Sorry. It's just, I wanted to give you a 'happiness charm'. Does it sound a bit childish? It's something my mother did for me back when I got really sad. She would comfort me and give me a 'happiness charm' saying that even if the skies are gray now, always remember that the sun will always be there. Sadness won't last forever. You just have to keep moving until you see the sun shine again."
