The idea to create SolidFace CAD software arose when we visualized the increase of the search for 3D CAD technology and the opportunity of a new business model. The product was developed targeted to following key points: reliable, affordable, compatible, user friendly and excellent support service. Some developers of our team have more than 17 years in software development and consulting focused in CAD plus technical experience in many countries like Germany, Italy, Brazil, etc. Solidface 2D/3D CAD was developed over five years by a team of expert CAD developers, mostly being old UNICAD software developers. This old product sold more than 4.000 copies on Latin America mostly in Brazil, but also in Italy, USA, etc. To develop the new product was invested more than 2.5 million dollars. One of the top challenges was integrating Parasolid/Siemens 3D kernel. This engine is considered the best for 3D modeling and is used by most of top world CAD vendors. In that way the product is 100% compatible to these software as we share the same core engine. In middle of 2012 we released the first Beta Test version. Our old customers and partners helped us to create a reliable and efficient test basis. They were also fundamental in suggesting new features, modules and the user interface seen in the current product.
3D Direct modeling Interact directly with the geometry of the model. Manipulate it by pushing, pulling, or twisting. Keeping the steps that create the final model, direct modelling allows the features geometry to be parametric modified by editing the feature used to create the new faces. #CAD, #SOFTWARECAD, #3D, #2D, #3D/2D, #PARAMETRIC, #SIMULATION, #ENGINEERING, #ARCHITECTURE, #MODELING, #PARASOLID, #3DPRINT, #AUTOCAD, #SOLIDEDGE, #SOLIDWORKS, #INVENTOR, #IRONCAD, #MICROSTATION, #3DSCANNING, #SKETCHUP, #SOLIDFACE

The evolution of the water kettle has seen it grow from the unassuming thermos flasks to the present day electric versions. While flasks are more portable, they don’t keep the contents warm for a long period and conversely, electric kettles consume more power, can’t be used on the go but do the job more effectively. To bridge this gap, designer Guillian Graves has designed an electric water kettle that is energy efficient and can be taken around the block.

The real news here is that NASA actually held a competition where they invited the public to help pick the most innovative – read monkey suit – cover layer design for the Z-2 prototype suit. The shortlisted designs were right out of a futuristic Manga series and had a particular theme to it. The Option A was called “Biomimicry” and took inspiration from the environment. More like the bioluminescent qualities of sea creatures that are found in the deep belly of the oceans. Elements looking like the scaly skin of fish and reptiles were also a part of the design. Highlights include segmented pleats at the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, and electroluminescent wire across the upper torso, which is evident in low-light situation

How about you give it a splash and twist with this DIY project from sugru?
As you know this magic material is water resistant and is used in repairing gear like raincoats, tents, scuba diving stuff and of course submarine robots.

It seems like everyone is vying for the “Dropbox of 3D” title of late, except none of the 3D file storage/share/viewing/management apps or websites have the basic key feature of Dropbox that is file/folder syncing between desktops, phone and website. From experience, the nearest “Dropbox for 3D” is Box.com and they don’t even have 3D file viewing

Upcycling Pallets as functional furniture or hacking them, as firewood is an old tale. The new age demands something more dynamic and drastic, which is why we bless innovative souls like Tomáš Moravec who give us a remote thrill ride from many miles away. Yes, this daredevil has hacked the Pallet to be his personal transportation vehicles that cruises down the Tramlines of Bratislava, Slovakia.
