So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street? When gang banging make me kill a nigga blacker than me? Hypocrite!

I fucks with Kendrick Lamar as much as the next man but I'm a firm believer in calling out bullshit even if it where to come from the blood stained lips of Jesus himself. How, in 2015, are people still acting as though intraracial homicide is a phenomenon that is unique to black people? How is it that Kendrick Lamar spent however many days and weeks to make a track condemning blacks killing blacks but failed to do a light google search on official statistics to verify his message?

Now if Kendrick is pertaining purely to numbers and I've misunderstood then I apologise but I just don't understand the comparison. You wept for Treyvon Martin because he was an innocent little kid shot by what was essentially a random white dude and gang bangers are a product of their political and socioeconomic environment.

To even talk about 'black on black' crime is a sweeping generalisation that takes no notice of environmental causes of crime and holds all black people accountable for a minorities actions, making it seem as if 'black on black' crime is an innate issue. Why should a black family in the suburbs of Boston have to discuss or face the ramifications of actions/behaviours/mindset of a crip/blood in Compton? It's not their fault.

Where's the governments blame? As a voice for a deprived area that he cares about he should know a lot of the violence and gang culture stems from lack of facilities, education, economic development, opportunities ect like it does in the shit parts of all larger cities across the world. All things that the father in Boston has not control over yet are thrown at him by some smug white wannker to undermine anything that is a genuine black tragedy- like Treyvon Martine!

Now of course there are many issues within the black community that need to be spoken about and addressed, like why are there proportionately more black homicide victims and offenders compared to whites for example. But to address those we really need to get away from this redundant narrative that is pigeonholing the whole black community into a one size fits all theory and obviously blockading any chance of a real discussion.
