Prettyprettypretty 🌹
Rose and I rode together today for the first time! She was super relaxed! Nothing was scary or made her act out of character. She’s a little hesitant to move forward confidently, but I think it was probably because I was nervous. I’m excited for where the next few months take us ^_^ I’m so proud of her! ❤🌹🦄
Smile! 😁
"Mustang" is synonymous with "Dragon" 🌹🐉
Walking barefoot through the mud will knock the rust right off your soul; honey, I learned that from a three-year-old.
I’m learning new things from my three-year-old every day, even on days we take five steps backward instead of progressing. Especially on those days.
Rose is one smart lil flower! My first time ever clicker training anything, and she is a star. I'm super proud. She has also learned to hand-target, and can put her nose in and stand to be haltered at the command "Halter".
Excuse me, bitch, it's time for dinner.
reblog if your horse is the light of your life
Rose and I learned to steer last night! I’m so proud of her. She’s the smartest pony in the world ❤🌹 This is the first time we asked her to move forward with the bridle on. She is such a quick learner. She wants so hard to do what I ask, and I sometimes feel like I can’t praise her fast enough! 😊
Rose wasn't feral
when she came to me. For the very beginning of our story together, check out @tales-of-the-trails.
However, she is only three years old. She's not saddle broke. She's people safe and a very, very chill horse. But she's still not the biggest fan of people approaching her, she'd rather keep her distance.
Today she approached me in the paddock for the first time, and my soul felt like it was flying.
❤🌹
Our first try at a joinup. This was taken about a half hour after she hit Illinois dirt. The way she acts makes me think this is the way she was taught to join up - just turning in and looking, not following. I’m not even mad, she didn’t even care that I was working her as soon as she got here. She did everything I asked her to and more ❤🌹
Somebody To Love
So, as per usual crazy horse girl, I've decided that Rose needs a "show name", as all registered horses get. Since Rose was born a feral horse and will never be registered, I have to make one up.
You know how some horses have like, initials before their name?? Like at my barn we have CZ Ducati ("Duke"). Idk what "CZ" is, but it stands for something, right?
Well, Rose was born on the Wild Horse Sanctuary
I'm a music nerd, been in band for twelve years of my schooling, and my freshman year of college marching band came with the Queen show, which obviously changed my life so....
Rose's "show name" is WHS Somebody To Love ❤🌹👑
Arrival 5/28/2018 1. My first glimpse of her in two years, am I dreaming? 2. She walked right up and into the new barn like she'd done it a thousand times. Did not give a single shit about this scary new place and all. 3. Yes indeed it seems we have a horse here. 4. Mom, who are these weird new horses??? (Sandy the pink pony, and Solstice the blind bay horse who uses an echolocation device attached to his halter) 5. I'm a MOM
