i have no good reason except that it’s messy and annoying me.  anyway, this won’t change much but here’s a couple of quick notes:

most threads & asks will be dropped unless they’ve been plotted quite a bit or you specifically ask for us to keep one!  ( and do feel free to do that. )  just the easiest way of not losing muse since i have too much old stuff sitting here.

but i might come back to asks every so often and reply to one on the new blog bc sometimes old memes actually get the muse going.

you know what, i can’t think of anything else, this was all i wanted to say.

mm so the interesting thing abt the darkest veins story??  is that when the danes tell it, it’s the origin of the maktahn ruling system.  it explains why the throne is taken instead of inherited, the story  ( maybe even the logic, in a world once so built on magic )  behind taking magic and power.  but when holland tells it, it’s the story of why the magic went away.  he doesn’t just change the ending, he changes the entire story.  both interpretations can’t be true –– unless the ruling system is MUCH younger than i thought, the magic couldn’t have started fading right after it was established, and nobody could really believe it did since the separation is relatively recent enough to theoretically be in written and oral record even if not in living.  which is another reason why holland making up that ending makes sense to me, but i digress

i’ve always said that holland made up the ending to the darkest veins story to spite the danes ( “the magic decided it would rather die than bow” ) but the other possibility is that alox or talya told him that ending and it paralleled his own situation well enough to throw back at astrid and athos later
