Am very excited, because this was my first image colored in Procreate! Looking forward to playing with this tool a lot more (because boy do I still have a lot to learn). That said…
Baz pulls off the road suddenly and hits the brakes, fishtailing halfway into a ditch, then gets out of the car like he’s just parallel-parked it, and walks towards the trees.
- Chapter 60, Carry On by @rainbowrowell
A baby who is paranoia itself
nosestealer:
“I’m quite sure.” It was Baz, who she hoped had another nickname too because it came a little bit too close to Alabaster’s nickname for her liking. “You’ve got a little—” Lou Ellen pointed at the corner of her lip and then to his. “—anyway, that’s not the point, the point is, I know you can fucking read.” A nod and then: “Good call, though. Will you keep me in the loop?”
“It’s not very exciting,” he warned, “but of course I will. Maybe you can even help me - you know how shit I can be with this.” He grinned at her as he jerked his head towards his room. “Then you better get in here if you wanted to know more. You have to excuse the mess. I’ve told you I’ve been reading so there’s paperwork allover my bed.” His hardwork and slight obsession showed in the bags that hung under his eyes.
mvndrvke:
“I most certainly will not. I can’t stand parties.” He can’t even remember the last party he’d been to. Had he ever been to one? Probably not. He snorts. “Of all the food you could bring, that’s what you chose? Not candy? Someone is definitely going to notice you eating those.” Nico rolls his eyes. “It sounds ridiculous when you say it like that. I mean, it always sounds ridiculous, but still.” He starts walking anyway. “I can’t believe we gotta’ wear these every meeting. I miss my jacket.”
“So you enjoy tedious meetings then?” He arched a brow, amused but a little weirded out. To be fair, these meetings were quite important - though Octavian taking over the floor on most gatherings like this drove him mad several times. “What? I like bananas. And they’re s’pposed to be good for you. Candies, not so much.” Besides, Simon couldn’t stand such small snacks. He preferred his quite heavy and filling, like fruit, bread or whole slabs of butter. “But isn’t that what you are? It’s admirable, really. You should be proud of yourself, bridging gaps and whatever you call it. And you could wear your jacket all you like after the meeting, Nico. It’s not like the end of the world. Not yet anyway.”
@nosestealer // from here.
“Are you sure?” That was a comical question given it was said with crumbs of scones on the corner of his lip. “What?? Who said that? Was it Baz? That prick. He never leaves me alone.” It may actually be the other way around, but he wouldn’t admit that. And then he hunches his shoulders like he was about to share something very secretive, “Just the one, unless I’m successful. It’s for me, I told you about trying to fix my performance issues? I’ve been doing some reading. And before you give me that look, yes, Lou, I fucking read.”

“Who thought togas were necessary?” Nico’s not really all that fussed about his wardrobe– he’s been wearing the same jacket since he was thirteen, he just doesn’t care– but Camp Jupiter’s always been more than a little bit ridiculous. He shakes his head. “I look like I’m going to a Halloween party, not an official meeting.”
“You’d pray it’s a party once we get there.” Simon said, stifling a yawn while adjusting his own toga, keeping it from falling off his shoulder. “It’s too breezy, it makes me want to go for a snooze. Best thing about it though, you can tuck snacks in and nobody would notice.” Proudly, he showed Nico two pieces of banana nestled discretely in the bunch of fabric and then gestured for Nico to lead the way. “After you, Ambassador.”
