You know, I would’ve. I heard what Medi said, staring down at her as she grasped my hand. I softly wrapped my fingers along her own smaller hand and sighed with a rather... somber smile. “I don’t actually know how. I have the communicator, but... it’s fried right about now.” I gave a smooth, slow sigh through my snout, only to continue. “And, in retrospect? A place where it’s already happened is much better than where it’s about to happen.”

A sigh escaped her, She had arrived with the Strawberry Soda for Tasha when she had picked a spot to sit.
“We’re underground, and the inhabitants down here are known as Monsters of this world, they are trapped here via Magic Barrier erected by ancient Humans during the climax of a war that broke out long ago.”
I had to take a seat. I very slowly needed to simply sit myself down beside Medi, and process this. I was now in a world where humans, after an ancient war between them and monsters, had forced the losing race into such deep hiding that they created a barrier specifically to keep them contained.
That didn’t ring any huge amounts of bells at all. No, it wasn’t as if I wasn’t from a world where things were beginning to come to a crux very similar to what seemed to be a war between humans and my kind. Not one bit. It wasn’t as if they would be able to potentially overpower us with sheer numbers as our race was still infantile.
I hadn’t realized I had set the glass Medi had handed me down with a look of sheer horror on my face. And it wasn’t a sympathetic kind of horror in which I simply felt bad. That was the type of sheer terror that showed I could imagine exactly how that felt.

“Alright, just find a place to sit and make yourself at home, I’ll get you some fruit soda, what flavor would you like?” Medi walked Tasha in while making sure not to go too far ahead in the efforts of not pulling her tail by accident. Subconciously, her hand was stroking Tasha’s tail and she wasn’t even noticing.
Inside the cabin, the entryway led to a large living room which also had a kitchen next to it, upstairs led to what could be assumed to be her bedroom while downstairs was her basement.
“Strawberry, please!” I loved it sweet, and that was a fantastic flavor for soda! That and grape. Yes for grape. Despite this, I slowly separated from Medi and began to glance about in curiosity, tilting my head softly. “So you had mentioned the inhabitants here being trapped for centuries... where are we, exactly?” Let’s get the important info out of the way, shall we?

“Tasha! U-uh…”, Ark began to stammer before getting snagged in mid thought by another pang of sharp pain.

Ark stood up, catching themselves with the side of the recycling compactor, feeling at their back with limited success. They then peel off their jacket and sweater, showing off their back to Tasha.
“That thing on my back’s stuck on. Um… I guess I can’t say I’m a journalist with something like this locked on my spine.”
“So the important stuff. One, I’m sorry I wasn’t honest about what I do. I’m studying this place because it’s quite different from where I’m from. Two, this thing on my back, is the reason how I got here. Three, I need an augmentation specialist to unstuck the bridge ports linking this thing to me. I need help.”
I flicked his nose. Right on the snout, his nose got bapped by a finger, my expression clearly disappointed yet far from angry. Alright. If a Machin wanted to keep it secret, that was fine, but be friggin' honest about it. "... I know a guy. He helped install a HUD within my optic nerves, so he's good with very delicate things." It was true. I could tell something was off about the mouse from the get-go, but at this point, I wasn't going to say that. No need to make this obvious.
Being a Machin myself, or rather, someone that physically added in machinery or cybernetics to augment their body or senses, I could understand wanting to keep it under wraps. Especially an Ephelli. But in that sense? Well, I was curious. He said it was how he got here. "... Mind elaborating? You make it sound like that thing teleported you here."

“I see.. I apologize if I triggered something, I’m not used to that reaction from most Canine-like creatures I come across..” Medi looked up apologetically at Tasha but once seeing her tail flop into Medi’s arms, she started to gently stroke it while they walked through the snow covered forest.
It was a few minutes, but the walk felt a bit shorter with company, as Tasha and Medi arrived at her remote cabin home a bit out of the way from Snowdin.
“Tell me Tasha, are you a fan of Tea? or would you rather have a carbonated beverage?” She smiled at Tasha as she reached out and twirled her fingers around the doorknob for a second, causing the doorknob to turn by itself and open up.
“Nnnno, it’s alright. I’m just not used to it. You’ve got a soft grip, I don’t mind.” I tried to give a soft smile in response, but I’m not sure I was very comforting. I did kind of have this look on my face that said 'Good lord where the fuck am I'. It had settled in that I wasn't in any known area to my knowledge, and there wasn't any local wireless nearby that I could connect. Another era, and what seemed to be a distinct lack of any outside information. They weren't all like this bunny? And on that note... she had mentioned them being stuck for centuries... what in the hell?

I am obviously not a part of those inhabitants but they need not know that.”
Then Tasha felt it, Medi’s soft hand started petting her canine tail before she pulled it back.
“Ah pardon! I should’ve asked for permission first! Umm.. m-may I pet you?”

Before I realized I hadn’t been harmed, I had flicked my tail out of her grip, staring down in shock. She obviously put her hand upon my tail, and there was something of a small grip there... but something was off.
That didn’t hurt. What, didn't she just pull it? I had to take a glance down at her, the embarrassed amount of shame upon her face telling me a lot more than I expected when paired with what she had just said. Permission. Pet me.
... oh dear lord she was precious. She wanted to pet my tail. Well, I do believe I could allow that if there wasn't any pulling going on! “You are more than able. Sorry, used to things other than pets. Be gentle?” I turned back to the side, slipping my tail over towards her and plopping it right into her arms. My big, fluffy, soft-as-could-be tail. I took care of my fur, darn it!
TO ANYONE LIVING IN THE UK
There is a petition to try and call another referendum about the EU, with a rule asking for a 60% majority before a decision is made. Yes this is a shitty time, but hopefully there’s still a chance to fix things. The Leave campaign have already gone back on some of their promises before the referendum, so please, if you can, can you sign this? If we get 100 000 signatures parliament have to debate it, so please. Even if you’re not in the UK if you can share this to try and get it out there, that would be fantastic. Here’s the link:
