I can’t let time move on without fighting tooth and nail and hopefully being a part of a revolution that is positive.
Looking for a healthy outlet for my rage. Haven’t found it yet.
I’ve been holding on to the girl that was supposed to die here with her parents. The girl who had a normal life, and didn’t fall in love with vampires. I feel like I disappointed her a little.
I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there’s still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I’ll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever. I want to share this goodbye with all of you. You, the wonderful fandom who gave more love, support and passion than anyone could have ever imagined seven years ago, when a young Degrassi girl from Canada showed up in LA to audition for ‘that Twilight TV show.’ I love you all. If you think you know what’s coming, you don’t. Love, Nina.

ninadobrev: Dearest TVD Family,I’ve just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn’t just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party. There’s more to come before we wrap this up, and I promise you’ll get to hear all about my experiences over the next month as we approach the season finale (I have given an exclusive interview for the June issue of SELF Magazine that I am excited for you to see!), but until then I invite you to hop on the roller coaster ride that is Elena Gilbert’s life and join me as I celebrate her and prepare to say goodbye to her – and to my work family – as I move on to the next chapter of my life. I want to share this goodbye with all of you (this weekend’s pictures were just the beginning). You, the wonderful fandom who gave more love, support and passion than anyone could have ever imagined seven years ago, when a young Degrassi girl from Canada showed up in LA to audition for ‘that Twilight TV show.’ ;-) I love you all. Fasten your seatbelts. If you think you know what’s coming, you don’t. Love, Nina
tvd fandom going through the 5 stages of grief like...
Denial: *starts crying immidietly* no no no this can not be happening, nina would never leave the show like this *cries harder about the fact that delena won’t be endgame* THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING
Anger: *uncontrollable sobbing* I WILL NEVER BE OVER THIS, I AM NEVER WATCHING THIS SHOW AGAIN. I AM SO DONE NOW, SO DONE.
Bargaining: Can’t nina just stay for one more season? JUST ONE, THAT’S ALL I ASK. PLEASE. *possible cry again*
Depression: urghh my life is over. the past 6 years have been a complete waste. This show has betrayed me and i’m dead, this is the end of me, please just let me cry in the corner for the next year.
Acceptance: *plot twist* is unable to accept and is forever stuck in the 4 stages of grief.
I’m just glad I was blessed enough to experience the relationship between Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert.
What a time it was to be alive.
I wasn’t prepared for this. Not at all. I needed a year’s notice, not a month before the finale, aka Elena Gilbert’s last episode.
We have five Delena episodes left and we didn’t even know it.
are you really not going to tune in to season seven? i thought it was your favorite show
TVD is one of my favorite shows. It really, truly is. I’ve watched it since they first aired the pilot and I’ve been here since. I checked it out because I needed more vampires while waiting for the Twilight movies to come out. When I turned in and watched for the next few weeks I wasn’t watching for a fix, I was watching because I was witnessing a beautiful story unfolding; with the addition of a amazing and real and beautiful love story beginning. I discovered this world along with Elena Gilbert. I watched as she persevered and showed a strength and compassion within herself that I didn’t even know could exist within a person. I was struggling with my own personal issues and I watched as Elena survived and fought and loved and I wanted to be like her. I found my strength through watching her. I found friends that I consider family because of this show. All of it was because of Elena. All of the show is because of Elena.
A lot of people are using the fact that Elena dies in the book and is gone for a long time and then appears and Delena still get their endgame in Paris as a reason that Nina leaving could still work. But the book while having some good moments (mostly Delena) never worked for me. TVD is and will always be Elena’s story. I am watching to see her grow and evolve and fight and love. Nina leaving (while I fully support her reasons for doing so and I am excited to see the amazing things the future holds for her) ends that story. Even if she could come back as a guest star or be in the finale - it won’t be her story anymore. It’ll be a season without her being there for every episode. I am pissed at the network and writers for allowing a Season 7 to happen when they’ve known Nina might not be back since AUGUST. They could’ve not been all about the money (which won’t happen since so many people are not tuning in next season) and ended it on the right terms. Creating a happy ending for Elena and her friends where we can really say goodbye. In Nina’s final season, Elena has lost her memories and been pushed aside. At first I was okay with Elena being a background character and more of a support system for her friends because she was happy with Damon and helping her friends. Nothing traumatic was happening in her own life. Now that I know that this is Elena’s last season as a main character- not so much. They could’ve gone out with a bang. How are all these loose ends supposed to be tied up in 5 episodes? How is Damon (Since Ian is signed on for next season) really going to just be there while Elena is not around? It is not within his character. I want Delena alive together or dead together. As long as they are together. They don’t need another obstacle keeping them apart. They need a happy ending. Elena needs her memories. And they need to walk off into the sunset and begin their own adventures.
It could’ve ended this season. Elena could have got her memories back. Steroline could be together. Matt and Tyler could be joining the police force. Everyone is happy and there for Ric and Jo’s wedding. There could’ve even been a time jump where we see Elena returning to Mystic Falls for funerals and what not. Just as long as it was ending on a happy note with Elena’s story getting the respect it deserves. But it’s not for the sake of money. It’s being tarnished and prolonged and it won’t be the same without her.
So no I will not be tuning in live. Maybe years from now, down the road, I’ll check out how my favorite show went out. I’ll probably check out the finale just because this show was such a large part of my life for so long and I feel I owe it to myself to see how it ends. Even if the final season or possibly seasons is not how I wanted it to go– without Elena.
I just can’t. So when Season 6 ends it will be as if TVD ended for me.
Nina is leaving
If season 6 ends with Damon giving Elena the cure and erasing her memories I'm so done.
