โYouโve lost someone and it hurts. I am not here to tell you that itโll be better in two weeks, or a month, or a year. I wonโt tell you that youโre in pain right now, but that itโll fade in time. I wonโt tell you that youโll get over it soon. I wonโt say that the sun will still rise tomorrow and that a good nightโs sleep can change anything. I wonโt say that others have it worse, or that you have to get a grip on yourself or tell you to stop crying. I wonโt tell you any of these things - they wonโt help you. Instead I am telling you now to take your time. To keep in mind that everybody lets go, moves on and heals at their own pace and that no one will ever understand your struggles like you do. Some people need a week, others need two years. Just promise me one thing: whenever you feel ready to do so, pick yourself up off the ground, and if you canโt do it on your own, let others help you. Allow your friends and people you trust to hold your hand along the way. Take tiny steps. Take a few steps back, if you have to. Donโt hold back the tears. Move at your own pace, no matter what anyone tells you. But move. Donโt stand still, promise me that you wonโt. Donโt do it for me. Donโt do it for them. Do it for yourself. Youโve lost someone and it hurts, I know. I am here to tell you that youโre going to be okay, no matter how long it takes you to feel that way.โ
