K-Beauty?
Who wouldn’t be hook in k-drama and k-beauty nowadays? Inevitably, due to massive popularity of k-drama and k-pops many of us were into k-beauty products, skin care routines and enhancements.
I’m proudly to say that I’m one of those who wanted to have a beauty enhancement to be conducted in South Korea. South Korea is also known as the World’s Capital of Plastic Surgery” due to it’s impressive medical system and enhance one’s beauty in a natural look.
Many of people around told me that I’m beautiful, that I don’t look a Filipina due to my white complexion and European looks. Some who may first saw me think that I look like a European, American, or sometimes when when my eyes were sleepy they would thought I was a Chinese or Korean. For me, these are great compliments. But the one big thing that I have insecurities for these whole years is that having a cleft palate. I have gone few surgeries here in the Philippines before, but I still do have minor speech defect. Which this may I think to hindrance me to take better opportunities. I wouldn’t like to talk how many opportunities I have missed due to having this or having super mistreated or would I say bad discrimination I had because of this or else I would mention the organization or company who have done this to me. 😅 If I would have a very low self-esteem maybe I would have take my life several years ago due to several rejections and discrimination. Luckily and thank God, I have I very strong self belief and make it till this far!
When I was studying, I really study hard because I was once told when I study hard I can get better opportunities in the future, but sadly it wasn’t like that. Real world strike hard! World is just discriminated as it is! It took me almost 10 years to be stable as where am I now, but still the world is still discriminated me, so that's why I’m still not giving up to work hard until I can get what I want! To live a normal life just like everyone else!
Many would say getting a plastic surgery is destroying or not being contented in what gave or bless to us, it is not!
“Plastic surgery is not just about being ‘normal’ or ‘passable,’ but about moving forward and being ‘above normal’ for Koreans. Compared to Koreans’ obsession with education or religion, the plastic surgery boom is almost nothing.”
- SO YEON LEEM, SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY RESEARCHER
As I would say, I support to all women in getting a plastic surgery to live a normal life coz some people don't know really know what are were getting through these whole years!
Cheers to all still working hard out there!
