The Middle East, Hormuz and the New Mercantilism

The provisional surrender document signed by Donald Trump appeared to represent a triumph for Iran and indeed for the world; but neither the USA nor Israel has the slightest sense of honour and they cannot be trusted to negotiate in good faith.

Iran knows this -- after all, the USA twice attacked Iran actually during peace negotiations, on each occasion killing key Iranian negotiators.

To understand the American position, it is important to realise two key points:

Greater Israel is an absolute priority

Opening the Strait of Hormuz is not a US priority

While the US/Israeli alliance were defeated in their attempt to impose regime change on Iran, and indeed have consolidated the popular support of the Iranian government, they have succeeded in expanding Greater Israel. Israel has ethnically cleared and devastated a vast swathe of Southern Lebanon, expanding its military footprint, and notably attempting to repeat its ploy from November 2024 of pushing forward its armour under cover of ceasefire.

Israeli withdrawal from Southern Lebanon has been a major negotiating point for the Iranian government and is a key -- indeed the very first -- point of the Iran/USA MOU. But in an extraordinary coup aimed at negating that deal, the USA has signed a deal with Israel and its puppet Aoun regime in Lebanon which seeks to legitimise Israeli occupation of Southern Lebanon through the agreement of the "Lebanese government". ...

Of course, everybody knows that Israel will never withdraw voluntarily, any more than they withdrew from the Golan Heights. Annexation is plainly the goal and expansion of Greater Israel at least to the Litani River and probably further.

It is important to realise that this is not only Aoun seeking the annihilation of the Shia population of Southern Lebanon; he is also betraying his own community. Aoun is himself a Southern Lebanese Christian, and Israel has been destroying the homes, churches, hospitals and families of Southern Lebanese Christians with as much glee as they attack Muslims.

The agreement names two "pilot zones" where the combined Israeli and Lebanese Army forces will eliminate Hezbollah, followed by Israeli withdrawal from those zones. But these are zones which Israel is not currently occupying -- they are areas where Israel was defeated in fighting by Hezbollah and which have been since subject to relentless Israeli bombardment. ...

Israel now occupies 70% of Gaza and plainly the entire "Board of Peace" mechanism is nothing but smoke and mirrors, pure fraud. It has zero effect on the continued tightening of the Gaza concentration camp into an ever-shrinking area. Israeli settlements in the West Bank expand daily and every night the skies are red with Palestinian homes and crops burning. In East Jerusalem Palestinians are continually evicted and replaced by fresh European or American arrivals. In Syria, Israel is building permanent fortifications and its armour creeps forward field by field, with the full cooperation of "President" al-Jolani.

Iran was able to resist the combined military might of the USA and Israel. That is cause for celebration. But do not allow it to blind your eyes to the continued hard reality of the expansion of Greater Israel.

There is no gain for the US in the US/Iran Memorandum of Understanding which the US did not already possess before starting the war. It is therefore very possible, and in many senses valid, to read it as the formalisation of US defeat: a surrender document. Which is why you should be sceptical about US commitment to the terms. ...

IDF and Israeli Settlers Murder Children and Teens

I read the new Btselem report on Israel killing children and teens in the West Bank. The pattern is clear. The IDF and settlers murder them. They are denied care as they die. The perpetrators are not held accountable. These are the worst cases:

1) Rida Bisharat, 8, and Hamza Bisharat, 10. Tammun, January 8, 2025. Playing in a small yard between their family homes when an Israeli aircraft fired a missile that killed them and a third cousin, Adam, 23. The mother reached her son as he lay bleeding from the head and groaning. Soldiers said in Arabic they would give first aid, then made the family back away, covered the three bodies in blankets, and took them without checking them. The military later claimed the three were identified as IED-planters; no IEDs were found. No charges against the perpetrators.

2) Layla al-Khatib, 2. Muthalath a-Shuhada, January 25, 2025. She was sitting in her mother’s lap at the dinner table when soldiers fired into the second-floor apartment, striking the back of her head. Her grandfather carried her bleeding into the street, where an officer said in English, “I’m sorry, she was hit by mistake.” With no ambulance present, the family carried her 100 meters to a civilian car. The army told Haaretz a “wanted terrorist” was barricaded inside and that it summoned medics; B’Tselem found no one was barricaded, no loudspeaker calls were made, and the mother was not pregnant as claimed. The army was investigating, no charges.

3) Hamed Nazzal, 16. Qalqiliyah, February 26, 2025. He was shot while throwing stones at Eyal Checkpoint with other teens, none of which caused any reported injury. After he was hit, the soldiers provided him no medical treatment of any kind. Paramedics were unable to reach him and only recovered his body roughly 15 minutes after the shooting. The delay in access falls within the pattern B’Tselem documents across nearly a quarter of the cases. The case drew an internal military review at most, no charges.

4) Omar Zyud. Silat al-Harithiya, April 2, 2025. He was hit in the back by fire from a machine gun mounted on an armored vehicle while among boys throwing stones and IEDs at the vehicles. The rounds killed him and wounded two other boys. The soldiers left the scene a few minutes later without providing medical treatment to any of the casualties. Israel was among those still withholding bodies in this period. No soldier was charged.

5) Ayman al-Haymuni, 12. Hebron, February 21, 2025. He and his 10-year-old brother had just left their grandfather’s house to walk to their uncle’s next door. After noticing soldiers who had raided the neighborhood, the two boys tried to return to the grandfather’s house, and as Ayman turned back he was shot in the back and fell. B’Tselem’s investigation found no clash underway that would account for the fire. The case produced no indictment.

7) Rimas Amuri, 13. Jenin, February 21, 2025. She had asked her mother for permission to visit her cousins next door. No clashes were taking place in the neighborhood, and traffic was moving normally. She was shot just as she turned onto the path to her uncle’s house. The army described her to Haaretz as a “suspicious figure” who ignored warnings; B’Tselem found she was shot in the back, with no warning heard by witnesses. No charges followed.

8) Malek Hattab, 17. al-Jalazun Refugee Camp, April 14, 2025. He was shot in the abdomen from a second-floor balcony as a group of youths fled from two military jeeps. B’Tselem could not establish that Hattab took part in any clash. A woman who lived nearby tried to reach him to help but was driven back into her home by soldiers’ fire, an obstruction of care of the kind documented across the report. No soldier was charged.

In 13 of the 54 cases, nearly a quarter, the military delayed or entirely blocked medics or residents from reaching the wounded, and in at least nine cases soldiers fired in the air or at rescuers to keep them away. And as of mid-April 2026, Israel was still holding 18 of the 54 bodies, denying the families burial. In none of the cases was anyone prosecuted for killing these children. That says it all.

A Gaza father recounts how Israeli soldiers killed his three-year-old son in his arms and mocked him

Israeli soldiers shot three-year-old Rayyan Abu al-Ajeen in his father’s arms and mocked his father’s pleas as he cried for his dying son. T

Abu al-Ajeen said he then picked up his son and moved about 50 meters back to calm him down. “As I began walking, the soldiers shouted at me to stop and fired beneath my feet. I stopped immediately. And the moment I stopped, two soldiers pointed their guns at us, and one of them shot my son while he was in my arms. The bullet entered the back of his head and exited through his left eye while he was in my embrace. Then they shot me in the leg.”

UN Condemns Israel's Illegal Settlement Expansion in West Bank

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres this Tuesday has strongly condemned the ongoing illegal expansion of Israeli settlements in the West B

Didn't the United Nations also recognized Israel as a country even though it's a settler colony stealing land whilst commiting genocide nowadays? Or that they refused to recognize Palestine for over half a century and are now considering the option?

An idea I had thanks to the new Raiders Trailer with Gears and Sparks is them in KN8 and Persona is them doing their own raids of sort.

In Kaiju No 8, they end up spelunking into a Kaiju nest, and in Persona, they enter a sort of mini area of Mementos with shadows.

They have there own treasures for Gears and Sparks to find and later on other characters join in on fighting these Sub Areas.

It becomes especially important when the fuzzy ooze is mixed in heightening the aggression of the enemies in the area

I was actually about to mention the Fuzzy Ooze. You know how the primary ingredient in the stuff is Golden Eggs from Salmonid? Since Mr. Grizz isn't present to reign it in, I see the stuff running wild and creating fuzzy copies of Salmonid enemies.

Impromptu Salmon Runs that run the risk of spawning Fuzzy King Salmonids if not handled fast enough. Gears doesn't exactly have the whole unlimited lives to fall back on when such a run gets extra hairy.(Pun not intended.) Help is practically needed.

Their ink can clean up fuzzy ooze since they were mutated by it from the source himself i.e Mr Grizz. Other than just contaminated beings like Shadows or kaiju, Salmonids have also become a threat.

So besides Leonidas, any Bakugan you want to see be a part of Vice's group when they begin their journey through Galar?

I haven't really thought of that honestly. A reason why is that I see an invention being to switch out Bakugan from any location. Short visits to Paldea and Galar allowed Vice to see the PC devices trainers use to switch out or deposit Pokemon.

Especially the mobile version used in later games like Sword/Shield for example. It wouldn't take long to make a Bakugan variant which allows swapping between at a time. Similar to the classic game rules where Brawlers always carry a set of three.

Plus it broadens the shenanigans with Vice and their friends depending on the journey.

Something very useful for both the Kagemori’s, Dera, Hana and everyone else in that Crossover is Frontier and Veil’s medical knowledge.

With Frontier their world’s special medicines gotten from things like Berries, roots and other fruits and vegetables is very helpful in creating on demand medicine for sudden illness, fatigue and injuries.

Alongside their Pokémon which can offer healing moves or abilities.

I can also see Frontier having Blissey stay with the Kagemori’s abit to help treat any injured. Sure helps Dr. Sakurazawa treat any injured that come into her office.

It’s also a bit funny considering that Dr. Sakurazawa is so nonchalant about people being injured and how she voices treating people as a nuisance to her while Blissey eagerly checks up and cares for injured patients.

Complete opposites on how they approach patients

For Veil it much of the same with their worlds items helping all around with a persons status. Can see Yuru and Dr. Sakurazawa asking for potion recipes considering the wide array of effects they can have. Alongside special smoothies and the various effects they have when made. I mean everyone see gow useful damage reduction and speed booster Potion/Smoothies are.

Plus, both these Crossovers have things to help Asa if she gets sick from stress. I had completely forgotten until you mentioned it on how she had gotten ulcers before. Something fast acting and tasty help with any stress related illness is a big help

The image of Dr Sakurazawa and Blissey tending patients together is absolutely hilarious. Gabby would compare the sight to comedy/tragedy masks if they were medics. Nevermind that this is one species of Pokemon who are very active when it comes to the medical field.

Veil/Frontier would offer Asa some herbal medicine upon hearing she gets ulcers from time to time. The fact she can't go to a normal hospital without any major risks is super sad. If anyone needs fresh herbs or berries then there's a garden by their secret hut available.

Started playing Legends Z-A and I immediately had a thought for Pokémon Crossover with Protagonist like Vice and Frontier

Considering that an excess of Mega Energy causes Mega Crystals to form, does it have any unexpected effects on other characters like Bakugan, Daemons, Digimon?

Depends on how they're exposed and how long. Lumoise appears to be ground zero for whatever is causing the Rogue Megas. I think a common side effect would be a feeling of sickness. This is a foreign energy which tends to cause unprepared Pokemon to go mad in pain.

Compatibility is also a factor since none of the above have experienced such energy. Some individuals could feel stronger or weaker upon exposure.

That new Direct on Splatoon Raiders gameplay was great! I really can't wait to see what else the game has instored.

Family of Baby Shot Dead By Israeli Soldier in the Occupied West Bank Speaks Out

"I held him in the morning; He was laughing and warm. Then evening came and I held him but his body was cold," Fahd Abu Haikal, father of 7-month-old Sam, told NBC News.

Baby Sam's parents buried him seven months after welcoming their healthy and cheerful son into the world. An Israeli soldier, firing into the family's car, had shot him dead.

"I held him in the morning; he was laughing and warm. Then evening came and I held him, but his body was cold," Fahd Abu Haikal told NBC News on Friday, after burying his son.

"This innocent child, who had done nothing in this world, who posed no danger at all, was killed in cold blood," the 41-year-old multimedia professor said.

Haikal's son was killed by an Israeli soldier near the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank earlier this month as he was driving his 80-year-old mother, Ferial Abu Haikal, home from a family visit. His wife, Dania Salameh, 28, was carrying Sam in her arms in the back seat.

He said that he was driving at a slow speed when he spotted the soldier pointing his weapon at the car. "I stopped immediately, and he opened fire on the vehicle without any warning or justification," he added. ...

The Israeli military initially said its troops had "perceived a vehicle accelerating toward them" as they carried out "operational activity" in the area around Hebron. One soldier responded with several shots toward the vehicle, the Israel Defense Forces said, adding that three Palestinians were hurt and evacuated for medical treatment.

Then video emerged appearing to contradict the Israeli military's initial account. In the footage, obtained by the Israeli rights organization B'Tselem and viewed by NBC News, the car comes to a stop well before reaching the soldiers.

In an updated statement Thursday, the IDF said the incident was under investigation by the Military Police Criminal Investigation...

Another video published by B'Tselem, also known as the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, captured the moments after the incident, in which Haikal can be seen in the video trying to stem the bleeding from his son's head. The baby's bright yellow romper is covered in blood.

Salameh can be seen sitting on the ground, also injured.

Haikal said his wife was taken to the hospital and had to undergo surgery on the right side of her jaw and on her chest. He said the family initially held off on telling her about Sam due to her condition. She was in "shock" when she found out. ...

Settler attacks and violence by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank have soared in the years following the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, attacks.

Since then, Israeli security forces have killed 241 children in the region, according to the United Nations human rights office, in addition to more than 21,000 children killed in the Gaza Strip during the same period...
