obviously the ice raids effect on agricultural production is al problem but it's honestly gross seeing that be such a focus of the reasoning why this shouldn't be happening. because we're losing our slave laborers?? our ag system is disgusting & exploitative and it's wrong that our society is dependent on the desperation of vulnerable ppl getting paid next to nothing to do the hardest most dangerous jobs where their employers treat them like scum so we can all have food. it shouldn't be like that anyway. I saw a viral video being shared on like every social media platform today of someone saying "we need these immigrants bc no white ppl are going to pick strawberries" like excuse me????? it's all very much giving kelly osborne saying "who will clean the toilets?" sorry if we can't eat because of this then that's what we deserve for depending on exploitation. these ice raids shouldn't be happening because it's wrong to expell ppl from their homes and separate families and criminalize them for doing exactly what our country claims to be built for, & if anything we need more protections for immigrants so their vulnerability won't be taken advantage of
