Was there a way to access the Shadow Isles? To consider himself a mortal was a bit of a stretch at this point.. perhaps more of an amalgamation of the wicked energy he accepted.. but still quite in possession of his human features.

Still, the presence of the Jailor was off-putting, to say the least. Varus had long since discarded the notion of being intimidated, and his original intention was replaced by curiosity. Was there really a way to ask this being about such a thing?

He sat in silence for a moment, the darkness of the forest an open enough invitation for anyone to approach him. His voice carried along the distance between them,

“To get to the Shadow Isles, what trials would one have to go through?”

“Trials...?” The word was echoed, amusement lining its syllables, rattling bones and chains with an idle shift in the specter’s approach. “There are no trials.” 

The isles’ damned lands were a curious place. For some, some like the warden, it bore the shores where eternity was embraced. For others-- many others-- it quartered endless black forests that swallowed sound and devoured all else. It was both a permanent and temporary home. It took and gave as it pleased. It was a volatile thing. 

“Your curiosity is a decidedly dangerous thing, archer.” Ah, but there was no hostility in these words - in fact, the creature seemed particularly delighted ( and perhaps that was even more alarming ). “How far will you go to sate it?”

please DON’T take things from a roleplayer’s blog — this means character ideas or characterizations or even verses or head canons —  and use them as your own!! it’s really uncool and it’s PLAGIARISM!! plus — the writer obviously worked really hard to create everything surrounding their character and it’s super uncool if you take their hard work, change a few things, and play it off as your own. this goes for original characters AND canon characters! everyone has their own head canons and ideas and unless you expressly ask permission it’s a big no-no. (plus, it’s really upsetting and hurtful to see someone taking your ideas and characterizations)
