Why I love Drums
Drums are so loud!
Why do I love drums so much? Probably because they are the best way I can blow off steam when I'm stressed out. Smashing drums is some of the best relief I can think of. I guess, I would probably prefer to smash a tv with a baseball bat or something, but that's pretty pricey and wasteful. Instead, I'll hit some drums.
Drums are also fun to learn since sometimes you can practice on autopilot. It is possible to break out a practice pad, turn on your favorite TV show, and train your muscles to do something new and difficult. Learning to play is a lot about muscle memory, and training your body to get used to playing certain things so that you can do it faster and more efficiently. You don't want to practice everything in front of a TV, but learning new rudiments, or warm-up sessions work perfectly for it. Check out this http://thenewdrummer.com/drumeo-edge-review, where you can learn more about practicing drums effectively. It's from one of my favorite sites the new drummer.
I also love playing drums because they are so loud and obnoxious, and people still consider it music. I can play my drumset as loud as I want, and people think that I'm practicing. Maybe that's not the best use of my practice time, but it still makes me feel good. When my parents come downstairs and yell at me for being too loud, I can just say "but, I'm practicing!"
Lastly, drums make you look awesome. Everyone loves the drummer of a band. Mostly because they usually aren't the front man who craves attention, but rather just the person in the back doing their own thing. They are comfortable drumming however they want, and they aren't really too concerned with how they look. They always look cool, and that's what I love about it.
What do you love about the drums?
