with all the doomsday chat going on i think it's important to remember that sam was actually the one steve didn't tell about his plan/say goodbye to before he went back in time, not bucky. when steve didn't come back immediately, sam was worried and confused and yelling at bruce to get him back. bucky, on the other hand, had told steve he was gonna miss him and in return steve said don't do anything stupid until i get back, which is what they said the first time they knew they were gonna be apart for a while, and when steve doesn't come back, bucky does not look worried or confused. he looks sad, sure, but he knew and accepted it. so if anyone here was betrayed by definition, i think it's sam.

so my merm au and the recent swapped merm au drawings really got me craving just a pure rk1k pirate au ahahahah

apparently, in the golden age of pirates, skilled navigators were hard to come by and were often the first to be kidnapped "recruited" from another crew. so in this au, connor works as the navigator for the navy who has been actively trying to hunt down markus' pirate crew. (connor is the reason why they're able to find markus' crew so often). in one of their recent battles, markus' navigator is killed so in retaliation, markus decimates connor's fellow navymen and "recruits" him.

this was inspired by a conversation that happened on the rk1k discord server about connor infodumping about fish during an aquarium date. that convo happened like months ago and i sketched out this idea but forgot to pick it back up so happy to have an excuse to finish it! took 16-17 hours and i'm super happpy with how it turned out!!! i just love painting water ehehehe.
