“ Ohhh? “ He draws out his response, eyes averting as he tried to think of a comeback but he ends up sighing, giving his head a nod. He wasn’t good at lying whatsoever so it’s not surprising she saw through his poor attempt. “You caught me red handed! Guess you can read me a lot better than I thought, haha. I’ll try to not be too intense.” The last thing he wanted was to rage in front of her. This was supposed to be for fun after all.

He took the controller from her with a grin before his eyes returned to look at the screen. Junan could pay attention to stats and things like that but he played for fun… and sometimes a healthy way to release rage but mostly fun! “Having a hard time deciding?” He locked in King Boo and his usual kart set-up. 

              ah, so it was her turn to be obvious.  with a sigh, she shrugs and a nervous laugh comes from her.  perhaps, in the end, they were both bad liars to an extent. 

                    “ ... yeah.  i don’t really remember much about how things work in the game.  the last time i played this i rage quit and haven’t touched it since... i think my brain blocked it out. ” 

                  yeah, such a game could get very intense in the dan’s home.  after staring at the screen for a bit, she settles with bowser and a random car setup.  this was for fun, right? so, she’ll just pick the coolest looking car set up.  it’s what bowser deserves anyways. 

                      “ there. i’ll stop being picky. ”

“I have to say you excellent taste!” 

A game that he has quite the experience with. Nothing like sitting around with your friends hour on end having intense battles. Mario kart definitely was a good way to start this hangout session. Junan gave a quick laugh as he set down the bowl of chips and water bottles he had retrieved. “Oh? In that case I’m as equally bad.” He sits down on his sofa as his hand motioned. “Go ahead and get it running.”

“ Let’s both do our best to not end up last, yeah? ”

            with a smirk and a nod, she set up the switch on the tv.  his tone of voice suggested that he was actually quite good at the game in which case she made a mental note to keep her temper in check.  grabbing the controllers off the side, she makes her way to the couch, plopping herself next to him.   

          “ something tells me you’re lying ... but i’ll let it slide for now-- ”

               and with that, she hands him the controller and instantly starts picking her player and car. uhhh -- what were the good stats again? great -- she might be worse than she remembered.

“Ruri-chan! Feel free to raid through the games and pick whichever.” He’s grabbing some refreshments for them to snack on.   //  @soultied​

         “ hmmmm? you’re giving me that much responsibility? ” 

                 she’s joking, of course, as she squats to get a better look. well, this was probably going to be an awful choice -- it was usually how friendships ended -- but her she was much too curious to see how it would go. 

            “ what about mario kart? don’t worry -- i’m terrible at it. ”

I didn’t go through all those painful lessons for nothing. ❜ Compared to Colette however, he hardly matched up to her socialization skills so unfortunately, he had a long way to go. It was especially important when he was the supposed heir to the kingdom. Man, what a pain this all was. 

     He mindlessly flickered his gaze over to his companion’s countenance, briefly taking notice of her faltering composure. Did he say something weird ? Nonetheless, he thought nothing of it. ❛ Huh ? We might as well since you brought it up. Although, I won’t appreciate all the rumours that are going to start. Who knows what all those gossiping nobles will start up. ❜ He blinked when she joined their arms together to tug him towards the refreshments. He willingly allowed himself to be dragged along. ❛ … Is it bad that I already want something strong ? ❜   

           “ huuh? would it really be that bad to be seen as dating me? two attractive people can be together if they wanna -- ”  her thoughts stop for a moment. actually, she probably isn’t the best for his reputation all things considered, soo... “ actually. okay, i can see why. ”

               upon reaching the refreshments, she releases his arm from her grip to take stock of the table. “ hmm... not at all. maybe it’ll help you loosen up. in fact, i’ll join you. ”  despite her words, she had already been mixing something rather strong mid-speaking.  if there was one thing she didn’t want to do it was dealing with this situation sober, she needed to be mildly inebriated to keep her cool ( probably ). raising her glass, she quickly looked around, making sure there weren’t a ton of witnesses, before giving a small ‘cheers’ and chugging.

I can do without the lecture while we have our peace and quiet in this corner here for now. ❜ They all seemed to be content in socializing with one another at the moment and not to mention, all his other siblings were keeping the rest nobles busy. ❛ But yeah, you’re right. You can be my first dance partner since you brought it up but anyways, that sounds like a good idea. Why don’t we go mix drinks or something ? ❜  

          “ me. i said you can’t. ”

        her usual confident composure faltered at the mention of dancing with him. that was certainly not what she was going for, especially with her own inability to handle emotions she thought she had numbed long ago.  her eyes look to the side, her hand reaching up to her mouth to cover the light blush on her face as she cleared her throat. 

              “ i suppose i can’t deny the prince, huh? plus, it would be good to be with someone as pretty as me. ”  with a small laugh to hide her nerves, she playfully linked her arm with his. “ yes! let’s get something to treat ourselves with. ”

         “ well, we can’t have that.  can we?  fear not, your coach in professional socializing is here. ”  she taps her chin a bit, looking around every inch that she could. “ you definitely need to dance at some point, so people know you’re here. but for now, why don’t we grab some drinks? ”

                    even if it was only for dogs, that would include them, huh?  technically they are part canine.  did that mean it could be something she needed to worry about?  it wasn’t like she was one to worry about things, but the idea of a rabid werewolf was actually terrifying, even to a werewolf.  quickly, she puts her hands on rika’s shoulders.

                     this was normal, getting a call late at night from cole with some odd question or thought.  it wasn’t like she minded answering him, in fact, she was happy that he thought to call her first.  now, she could only hope archer didn’t mind the late night calling and talking.   shifting so she could sit up better, she continued.

The knock to his door was definitely loud to his ears but he wasn’t sure if he had it in him to actually get up to greet whoever it was without tripping over himself. His phone had been on the cushion besides him. He texted Estelle to bring over something to snack on before he made the unfortunate decision of getting high but ah, the need to use was picking away at him too much for him to be able to wait it out.

“ Fffuuu– really? shit… you’re spoiling me with all these goodies. “ He laughs a little as he leaned forward to look through the bag on the table. His hands were jittery– shaking far more than they should which should give away his current state of mine. “ This is why I can count on you. None of the other fuckers ever come when I text. ”

 “Now! Come come– have a seat. Lets dig into this shit. “ He motions to the spot on the right of him that was open for her to sit at.

              honestly, she figured what he up to the moment he texted her.  after all, she was often the one he called or texted when under any influence no matter the time of day.  oh the amount of amazing ‘revelations’ she’s heard him say would be too many to count.  buuuut, they were entertaining at least!  and he was her friend.  with a small bounce in her step, she walks over to the couch and plopped down next to him.  

                   “ oh, you’re just looking at the outside!  wait until you see inside! ”

                she winks, grabbing the bag and pulling out the contents.  first, a bag of bugels followed by a can of spray cheese.  holding up her finger as if to say ‘hold on, just wait’, she pulled out a bag of hot cheetos and some nacho cheese.  

                    “ of course i, estelle, know just what you want!  and on top of this, if you’re still hungry, i got stuff to make hot dogs wrapped in bacon and ramen! ”
