Sound of Symbols

Using a 16mm optical audio reader and an oscilloscope, this experimental short translates the geometry of everyday symbols into their characteristic sounds, revealing the hidden sonic identities within the shapes that surround us.

This was an early test with the analog scope I found on craigslist. Used James H Ball's amazing Osci-Render software to translate shapes into sounds that would make these patterns on the scope. Neat!
