A few years ago, I worked in a shop that sold perfume oils and made special custom blends for customers. I had one of my own, a fig/cassis/waterlily/lotus flower blend I dubbed “Aurelia” - a variation of my own name and the subject of a poem about a heartbreaking woman.Â

The first two scents mixed together are a near match for my old signature scent, and the other fragrances are equally refreshing and beautiful. This one was on clearance, so I got it for a song, but the full suggested retail of $30 is still a steal for such a gorgeous and practical beauty item.Â
Solid perfumes are great because the scent blends with your own chemistry and becomes something personal - the fragrance almost becomes a part of you. They’re convenient for travel as they won’t spill, and applying the moisturizing balms feels soothing to the skin.Â
The palette itself is slim considering how much product is inside. It’s a sturdy, heavy paper cardboard adorned in the most elegant and understated design. There are options in other ranges of scent notes, including fruity, floral, vanilla, amber, and more. They’re an excellent buy for the price - the perfect way to treat yourself or indulge a friend.Â
I’m excited to be reunited with a favorite old scent and introduced to a new must-have product all at once, and can’t wait to eventually try more!
