Yes!!! A few weeks after Strifeloose get together, Boyd shows up at the Money Bin to basically announce to Gyro "I'm your son now, I wanna live with you"

They have the same relationship as in canon, but a bit more close in a father/son way!! As do Aeris and Boyd (Aeris being the "cool dad" in the dynamic)
