We were fighting a mimic who was originally disguised as a chest. I play as a fighter with a ton of friggin’ weapons.

Me: I will strike with my Rapier! *rolls a 1*

DM: the mimic bites your rapier in half!

Me: Fuck! *places that d20 across the table in time-out for failing me*

NEXT TURN

Me: Okay, I’ll pull my +1 longsword and give it a slash. *rolls another 1*

DM: The mimic dodges the slash and the longsword comes loose from your hand and goes flying across the room!

Me: FUCK AGAIN! *puts that die into time-out too*

NEXT TURN

ME: ALRIGHT THIS TIME I’M THROWING BOTH MY HAND AXES AT IT! *rolls a 1 once again*

DM: It swallows the first handaxe. Roll the next one.

ME: *GIVES UP, THROWS ALL THREE DICE ACROSS THE ROOM*
