Introducing the Garlean verse:

In this verse, the one incident that convinces Teu to abandon Garlemald and follow Hydaelyn’s calling once more, does not take place. Instead, Teu is given even better jobs as a tailor and dressmaker, as word of her skills begins to expand. Over time she becomes a rather valued tailor employed directly in the court of the Garlean Empire, navigating the web of intrigue and politics as best as she can and keeping her Echo a secret.

When I have a moment I’ll sit down and work on that Garlean AU I’ve been having in mind, where Teu stays in Garlemald and becomes the tailor for the Imperial Household. 

A tailor who can do some asskicking if it’s needed, but is generally just a very good artisan with the Echo.

Life is peaceful, when she decides to leave the Garlean Empire. Life is peaceful and comfortable, and Teu cen Ladi fights the urge to turn a blind eye to all she has been ignoring for too long. 

In the dark of the night, as she puts her finishing touches to an obscenely expensive gown she has been working on for three days and three nights, she wonders whether staying would be so bad. She has a livelihood. She is well known, despite being a relative newcomer. She’s an outsider with citizenry and a rank that denotes respect, and she’s addressed by name by an aristocracy that often doesn’t even look at those of non Garlean descent. 

But all around her, people suffer. People suffer and she feels the call to go elsewhere, to follow a call that had her get sidetracked once. The Echo still calls to her, after all, and she can only think about what she witnessed but days prior. She is happy in Garlemald. She cannot stay. This happiness is an illusion that doesn’t hold if she turns her head too much. 

She caresses the silk of her newest creation one last time, then the placard with her name and rank, Teu cen Ladi, then turns around, picks up a back with her few possession and ensures that a message will be delivered in secret to her adoptive family. She will not be found again, and the sewing room will be destroyed, but still usable. The gown will still be salvageable. 

But Teu cannot just stay while Garlemald attempts to conquer the world, not while Hydaelyn shows her the cries of her people. Not when her conscience still cries, so long as she cannot silence it. 

“Goodbye, Garlemald.” She sighs. “Such a dream, this has been.” 

She will never again be known for creating, but for destroying. 

And years later, as she watches Morganaux recover from a vision brought by the echo, she regards him with just the slightest apprehension.

× what does your muse smell like? what perfume/cologne are they using?

When just fresh out of battle, unfortunately, Teu tends to smell like blood, iron and faint brimstone. She blames Fray for this. When she is not in battle, however, she likes lavender perfume and applying some of it is part of her morning routine. 

If she’s been weaving or crafting, moreover, given how she enjoys using scented candles while working, she’ll often come out smelling like whichever floral scent the current candles have.

Already answered! :3 (Short story is yes, the largest on her side and inner leg, and in battle)

♧ any freckles/moles/birth marks? where?

Teu doesn’t get freckles -she things it’s a shame and she’d look cute with them- and doesn’t have any moles, but she has a vaguely oval-shaped birth mark on her inner left arm. When she was a small child, she liked drawing two dots over it and pretending it was a surprised face.

Teu has a fair number of scars, a direct consequence of fighting on the frontlines with a greataxe and then a greatsword. Most of them are small and faint, healed soon enough with healing magic and remaining as little more than pale lines, but she has a large scar on her right inner leg that was almost fatal and a large claw gash on the right side of her torso. She’s not ashamed of them, although she doesn’t show them often. 

❅ what do they usually wear when they’re not working?

If she’s out there in the world she’ll usually go for comfortable travel clothes, most often handmade by her with the comfiest and softest materials she can find. If she’s in a place of residence such as the Stones or the Crystarium, she can often be seen in pijama-like soft clothing.

It can be a bit of a shock for those who have seen her as a Dark Knight in battle and then find her wearing soft pink pijamas, but she’ll just smile and keep trying to help people.

All I want is for someone to be at some point both surprised and impressed by Teu's knowledge of Garlean high society and fashion.

Just this tank, this Dark Knight who is a healer at times, whose fighting style is screaming in the face of his enemies and tanking damage, being both a former garlean tailor and capable of sewing ball gowns worth a fortune.
