irefull.
Tate stopped dead in his tracks, took one step back, and detoured himself into Russell’s room. “With what?” There was a sigh to his voice, but it was almost endeared in a way ; He appreciated that his brother at least attempted on his own every time before he went searching for someone to help him. “You know I’m more of a History - and - Literature kinda nerd, right? Not math.” But he’ll take a look.
He made himself comfortable on top of Russell’s bed, grabbing the sheet of homework and the pencil right from his hand. “Ya know, sometimes taking a break can be good for you. Helps you concentrate when you come back to it.”
“I’m a skateboard - and - fall - on - my - ass - and - sometimes - my - head kinda nerd so you’re closer.” Russell scooted his legs up and crossed them, then leaned forward to watch whatever Tate would do on the paper.
“I know, but I wanna get it done so I don’t have to come back to it.” Even though he knew that taking a break was the best idea, he would much rather just get it over with and not have to worry about anything for the rest of the night. Call him stubborn, if you want; the shoe fits.

After a while of doing homework, the numbers on the page stopped making sense and Russell was left staring at meaningless shapes and symbols. His brain was overheating. He was just about ready to give up, but he was already failing algebra and his mom would kill him if he had to repeat a grade again.
Movement in his peripheral vision prompted him to look up and see Tate walking past the open door. “Dude! Help!”
