#Repost @iainfourie ・・・ Feeling very overwhelmed today... Some time ago I approached a festival owner I know about booking Arrested Development. He was immediately keen. It took just 17 months to get @adtheband here and I ended up on festival crew as HOD Ground Transport. So we moved 80 International artists and crew including @adtheband- probably within the top 3 biggest operations of its type in SA's touring/concert industry. I signed my team up for mayhem and we pulled it off! And I got to meet & hang out with Speech, a man who's music has featured in the soundtrack of my life and who's lyrics have had a profound influence on my personal views. I got to see a band, an established brand, deliver on what it promises- when invited to get involved in our community, ALL of the band stepped up and took part. When they were there, ALL of the band PARTICIPATED. No press, no posing, no posturing, just real love. Over 17 months I went from excited to nervous to scared to meet Speech. I've been around long enough to know your heroes sometimes turn out to be jerks. Instead, in this case, my hero turned out to be a little shorter than I expected. That was the only surprise. The dude's as warm, generous and kind as he comes across. A critical thinker with definite views but so keen to hear from others & to learn from others.
