“As long as I’m not looking like some sort of creep for staring. I can’t admire genuine beauty when I see it?” He was being honest though. Brian couldn’t help but stare. She had some sort of pull on him to do that. He couldn’t figure out what exactly, but he just had to stop what he was doing and glance her way when she entered a room. If it wasn’t her sparkling smile, it had to be something about her dark, almost hypnotic mocha eyes. If she really was going to tease him, he could do it right back. Plain and simple. Because the words that left both of their mouths were borderline flirting words. “No, it’s not. I see that now. But how many guys you know are actually man enough to throw down a pink slip in front of your brother without breaking a sweat?” Brian had done it so nonchalant the other night, he just didn’t think he’d actually lose. (He didn’t expect Dom to be that fast either.) Or actually see the Eclipse blow up and end up in car heaven either. The street racing world was a dangerous one, but one that Brian was starting to enjoy with all its thrills and adrenaline. Maybe more than he should be admitting to. “You don’t seem to mind it at all, even when we were at the market. So why’s it matter what he thinks now? You have the right to talk to anyone you like, right?”
A smirk tugged at her lips when he spoke, a slight shake of her head. “No, you’re not being a creep by staring but you really shouldn’t be wasting so much of that flattery on me. It won’t make Dom any less eager to get that ten second car you owe him.” She couldn’t help but chuckle to herself, their flirting becoming a regular thing which was annoying SOME others within the little street family. “I’ll admit, it was impressive but now you have to work on that car which means he OWNS your ass. Like I said, you don’t want to piss HIM off. I have NO issues with you staring at me. I’m just giving you an advanced warning that he’s VERY protective of me. Why wouldn’t he be? He’s incredibly protective of the others too but I’m his ACTUAL family.” Moving closer to take a look at what he was working on, the oldest pile of junk any of them had seen but it had potential. The engine work was in mint condition and Jessie had already found reason to be impressed. “Do you really think you’re going to get this car up to par? You’ll have to race for him, earn him money or you’ll be back out of the good book. Why are you so keen for RESPECT around here? I get it. I know it’s a street thing but why are YOU so eager for it?”
