And she dreams by the seashore, with curious eyes lulling into yet another daydreaming sequence. Her heart longs for dry land, for a simple life resembling the stability she swims without. She is not blind to oppression. She is not without it herself. It is that very maddening thing she yearns to run from – oppression. The Mermaid looks up at the sun, perched on a large rock just off of the shore, and she pleads with the universe. Doomed to live a life of begging, of watching from afar and never being able to live the life she wants. With determination layering through her pleading eyes, though, she ponders the hope that burns inside of her like fire. The everlasting question of, “What if?”
