Walk the Dog

Monica’s excitement was palpable. “Anytime you want, honestly. I know I’m not exactly easy to get ahold of, but if you tell me what days of the week you’d like me here then I can make myself a schedule.” After all, it wasn’t as if Spencer could call her or even necessarily find her - she slept in a lot of different places, out of necessity. “I’m sure Jedi can lead me to all sorts of fun places.” The dog looked up at her when his name was mentioned, but quickly went back to chewing his treat.
“I can see that,” she agreed with a smile. “Very special. That’s good! Everybody deserves some time to just chill.” Following behind her, Monica’s brow furrowed at the offer of more clothes and the like - but again, she could hardly deny how good it would feel to wear something besides her disintegrating socks and the t-shirt that didn’t even come to her waist. “Thank you,” she finally responded in a choked voice. “It means a lot. You don’t happen to have a razor in there…” she hadn’t shaved her legs in months, and it was a gross feeling.
“We’ll figure out a bit of a schedule for the next two weeks before you leave. It’ll have to be in two week intervals because sometimes things come up and I wouldn’t want to leave you confused if you show up and for some reason Jedi isn’t here.” She said with a soft laugh and a shrug.
She moved to a cupboard and pulled out a completely new shaver, and placed it on the edge of the tub, before turning to Monica wish a kind smile on her face. “Take your time okay? Relax as much as you want. I want you to feel good after this.” The last thing Spencer wanted was for Monica to feel like she needed to rush through the process, because as much as this was to get clean, it was also for her to feel better. And there was a bit difference between those two things. She reached out and squeezed Monica’s wrist gently, before heading out of the bathroom and closing the door behind her.
She moved back to the couch and turned the show back on, patting the couch and letting Jedi hop up onto the couch next to her and snuggle up. She was content to wait as long as Monica was going to take, not in a rush for her to leave at all. Monica was going to get as much TLC as Spencer could push on her before she was pushing too much. She wasn’t sure what it was about Monica that she felt so drawn to, but she couldn’t deny that she felt something with her that she hadn’t felt about others that she had helped.
