He’d never worked in a bar before this, not that his employers knew that. He had been careful to fake about 90% of his resume when he typed it up the night before his interview and according to the little piece of paper he was positive his manager had thrown directly into the trash immediately after he said he could start the next day, he had five years of bartending experience in one of the busiest bars in New York City. One that had mysteriously closed mere months ago and couldn’t be reached for comment on his employment, sadly.
Still, he had practiced in his room for long enough to start feeling like an idiot and had memorized about five of the most popular cocktails in America, according to Google so he felt pretty prepared when he had started. In fact, he had been absolutely killing it for the last five weeks, or he had been until this order.
He was lost, his phone was dead and his customer was beginning to tap their fingernails against the bar in a way that seemed increasingly hostile the longer they sat without their cocktail.
“Hey, I’m sorry, this is totally unprofessional but would you mind looking up a Naked and Famous for me?” He grinned hopefully, his expression falling in the silence. “This isn’t a come-on, by the way. I have no idea how to make this drink and I really need this job.”
Strange to be at Aero Cocktail Bar, when he worked at The Pitstop, but Spencer needed a place to escape and hell he just got paid today, which meant he had money to burn on alcohol. On the stool at the counter, Spencer sat uncomfortably with the prosthetic hanging down when he wanted it to rest on the metal bar below the seat, but decided to ignore it as his hand cradled his glass of whiskey.
When the bartender piped up, his blue eyes lifted from his nearly empty glass and was confused at first. Without having to look it up, he started to list the ingredients for the man, how much of everything and of course the instructions. Leaning over the counter, he watched carefully. “Do you think you got it man? It can be rough, I bartend at The Pit Stop.” He said with a soft smile. “You need help with anything else?”
