CHILDHOOD FRIENDS. Spencer moved away when she was 9. She was a tomboy and lanky and hasn’t been back since recently. These two would have likely just reconnected. / Also long standing “kept in touch” childhood friends.

NEIGHBOR. Spencer drives a bad ass and loud car, and even though she’s out in bighorn this beast is loud. probably drives them batty. or they love it. 

COWORKERS. Cop friends. Spencer is on desk duty rn and terrorizes people by dispatching them shitty cases to take out her aggression for not being able to be a detective

CRUISE TICKETS. Spencer bought tickets for a really expensive cruise coming up for her and rhett. well, Spencer is dead and she is hellbent on going on this super expensive cruise.

“Oh! Thank you..” Leanne looked down at what she was wearing. It was nice, She supposed. Honeslty, she didn’t remember putting it on. The last several day’s were one big blur of shock and grief. She almost felt guilty for grieving instead of helping search for those lost like she had in the hurricane. “Should I do a little twirl for you?” Leanne humored her, catching on to just how medicated the poor woman was. “I think you should give them another chance. It’s all about pairing the pads with a good flair pant and chunky jewelry.” Sensing the wasn’t ready for her to leave, Leanne took a seat on the edge of her bed. After all the bad, perhaps a meaninless conversation about shoulder pads was exactly what they both needed. “Once you get outta here we can go shopping if you want? I’m also an expert at feeding people jello if you get hungry. Looks like you put up a real fight. Where were you when it happened, if you don’t mind me asking?” She nodded to the cast on her arm. “I’m Leanne. ”

“Shoulder pads are a state of mind,” Spencer agreed with a sage nod. The woman’s style was incredible. Spencer could never - she was a certain degree of whore that she didn’t pull the classy off well. It wasn’t her. She felt like an imposter in clothes like that. “A nice blazer would be nice though, really. Something with mesh sleeves...” Spencer was rambling at this point. She was no longer describing a blazer in the usual sense. At the mention of Jell-O Spencer poked it with her fork. “I’ve never actually eaten it? I think people had this maybe as kids? Then when you’re an adult... it’s just...” Spencer vaguely gestured. She poked the Jell-O again and let out a tiny giggle. It was something she imagined that kids would love if they were ill. At her question, Spencer nodded. “I’m Spencer. I have no secrets, just shit I don’t talk about unless asked, you know? Best not dampen the mood. But, I was trapped under the rubble of the Church. Speaking of - they won’t give me a mirror. How much like hamburger does my face look? It feels... I feel like Sloth from the Goonies...”

The reality of where she was and what was wrong was beginning to set in as the pain was increasing by the second. “Fine? Yeah–no–we are not fine. No where in the realm of anywhere close to fine.” Rori had forgotten what she’d even originally said to Spencer by that point, panic rising in her voice as began to feel nauseous. Part of her mind, trying to process the idea of death because she had always felt it was something that had such a poetry in life. But the other part of her was lost in realizing how much pain she was in, and how terrified she was–of death? Was it death she was terrified of? Or just of the feeling of pain that was consuming her right now. “We have to–we have to get out of here..” She wasn’t really listening to anything Spencer was saying. Rori swallowed hard, trying to muster up the courage to move her arm from beneath the rubble so she could try to figure out how to get out of here–get somewhere safe–get Spencer somewhere safe. One, two, three, “Ahhh..” She screached out in pain, wholly failing and being able to dislodge her arm from beneath the rubble. A stupid idea anyway, it wasn’t like she’d be able to get the rest of her body from beneath it either. “I can’t move–nope I can’t–” She heard Spencer’s idea through the tears that were starting to frantically fall, “Oh–okay, okay.” Spencer seemed so calm and it fascinated her, but only for a moment as she watched the woman hopefully so that they could get out of here.

As Spencer struggled to free herself, the lazy bonds of wanting to be dead started to break and instead her survival drive kicked in. A cruel grin peeled over her face, leaning into the pain as she shoved her weight, creating a small amount of room to allow her to better breath. It gave her a second more to look around. A bubble of sadistic laughter escaped her mouth. She was insane, that was becoming clear. “Not today, been through too fucking much to die here, in this pile of rubble, fucking today.” Fuck you, Spencer thought bitterly. Fuck this bullshit. There was a time where she thought she might die, might accept it, might have even gone to something close to heaven. Now her only goal was for the Devil himself to shiver at the idea of her being awake, of her being sent his way. She felt rage pull into her heart, sending it hammering as she gnashed her teeth. Huffing, Spencer tossing her head. “Call for help. If you have the ability - scream. I can’t. My chest hurts too fucking much. I can barely breath. Rib is definitely broken.” Her head tilted and twisted as she started to wiggle, her face contorting into an awful grin as she leaned into the pain.

Given everything, Spencer was back in therapy. Not because she really wanted to be, but it would look good in the meantime while she healed from her injuries. She was still short on breath and in a good deal of pain, but she was careful with the oxy she was prescribed. Being a cop had let her seen the worst of what a opioid addiction could do. The stable was doing riding lessons as donations, and Spencer had sent them money but didn’t really intend on doing the whole lesson thing. She had a broken rib and a broken arm, and her face looked like she got into a fight with a steel beam and lost. Which, she did. On the encouragement of her therapist saying that ‘horses were good for mental health’ she went to the stable anyway. Nearly running into Caleb, Spencer exhaled. “Just the man I was hoping to see.” Caleb had a horse. She felt... safe near him. “I bought the riding lessons... but with the--” she held the cast up, “and the--” she pointed to her half swollen face, “and the broken rib... it, yeah, I’m not getting on a horse.” Spencer looked around. “I have no idea what I am doing here.”

Leanne didn’t like the idea of leaving Olivia, but she’d gone down to the cafetira for some coffee since sleep wasnt coming easy these days. She still hadn’t managed to tell her that her father was dead, drowned the wreckage of the pier. She didn’t know how. Walking back into what she assumed was olivia’s room, she was met with the unfamilar face of a woman was gorgeous, but not her little girl. “Oh!” Leanne back tracked real fast to look at the room number which read 307 instead of 407. In her exhaution she’d gotten off on the wrong floor. “This is awkward. Sorry. I thought this was 307. My daughter’s in that room.” She explained, taking a sip of coffee.  “I’ll just get out of your hair.”

There was a nice feeling of floating that Spencer was enjoying. Things seemed... nice. She knew they weren’t. She knew the opposite, but the amount of morphine in her system was able to give her the excuse that everything was fine. Docs wouldn’t give her a mirror to look at her face, which didn’t feel like a good sign, and every time she breathed there was sheer pain. Morphine made her not care about it, but not unable to feel it. A cast on her arm. Spencer’s head came up. “Your blazer is incredible.” Spencer loved a good blazer. “Are we bringing back shoulder pads? Because I could never like, ‘make them work’ for me. But I respect them, you know?” Spencer nodded and waved off her apology. It was nice to just... not. To just ignore the obvious and not talk or think about it. This woman was clearly here for someone near and dear to her. Spencer had no one. She could at least, she didn’t know, maybe just ease the darkness?

Her brows furrowed as her eyes had shut, brain shutting off from the utter shock of the moment. Dust and rubble covered every inch of her. Somewhere off in the distance she could hear her name being called out, but couldn’t get close enough to reach the source. Then suddenly, the memories of what’d happened moments earlier came crashing back, as if there wasn’t enough crashing going on in that moment already. And then the excruciating pain rippled through her body and her face winced in agony, gasping for a breath of air and finding that somehow more difficult in that moment than ever before. “Spencer!” She called back out, alerting the woman that she was there, alive, breathing. All suddenly ideas that neither of them could take for granted in that moment. “Over here.” She called out weekly as the shock began to ware off and the pain just settled into her body, nestling right into all of her nerves as she started to cry. Her brain slowly came to as she looked around her, one arm pinned beneath a part of a building, the rest of her body covered in rubble. She wasn’t sure if she could even feel one of her legs right now. While the other one, she could definitely feel it in all its painful glory. Rori sputtered out a few coughs, “I–I’m fine yeah.” She winced as she spoke the words, reaching up with the arm that wasn’t pinned to feel the gushing blood of a head wound, “Are you okay?” Could Spencer help get them out of here? Or would they need outside help? Were they going to die? Death–a fascinating subject for the Waters’ woman. Had she lived enough life yet? She pushed away the thoughts as soon as she thought of her family. “What–what happened?”

The moment of panic in the other girl’s voice was quickly replaced with an edge of pain and Spencer sighed. At the sound of the other girl saying that she was fine, Spencer let out a small laugh and a morbid joke, “Fine might be an overstatement, given the circumstances, babe.” Spencer was smiling. This was such a shitty situation, but it was better to smile than to deal with the alternative. As Rori asked what happened, Spence shook her head. Not that the other woman could see her but it was more to shake loose the memories that she had. “I only remember the car coming off the tracks... I don’t... know, really.” There had to be something else going on. “I, uh, definitely am okay given the current circumstances. Okay. So we’re fine and good, but we need to think about next step. I can’t move... can you?” Spencer didn’t like the idea of being trapped. She was already looking around to see if there was anything she could grab to unpin herself. “We might need to uh, shout, and see if someone can hear us otherwise. I have a piece of wood here, I’m gonna try to wedge it and see if I can unstuck myself...” Spencer winced as she moved to get the wood and attempted to wedge it. Once of her arms was useless. There was too much pain and she couldn’t get her fingers to work. It was a little concerning, paired with the unnatural bend.

The noise was familiar. Ringing. High pitched. The difference was instead of light she saw darkness behind closed eyelids. This wasn’t a fever dream, she realized, as she came to. System check. It was much like a computer booting up and running logs, she began to see what the damage was - a habit that was well engrained from many nights of getting blackout and not knowing where she was or what happened. This time was different though. This time she was definitely not okay. She was stuck, the smell of blood filling her nose. She could move an arm and wiped her face. Eyebrow. Again. She actually had a scar there from the not so past experience with… well. It didn’t matter. She should be panicking, she thought. This wasn’t in her training, there was no sustained training courses she took to know how to react to this. Instead, she was just tired. She didn’t even really want to fight it. The sound of movement caught her attention and she attempted to call out, “Rori?” Her voice was barely above a gravelly whisper. The woman had become a fast friend. They had some sins in common and it made it easier to be around each other. Spencer wasn’t always the most easy person... Spencer’s voice didn’t even sound like her own. She realized that she couldn’t really breathe, it hurt. She knew that pain too. “Rori?” A little louder this time, her voice called out. “Where are you? Are you okay?” She needed to know where the other was first, then she could figure something out.

“Don’t be a player hater,” Spencer said with a light laugh. Teddy was one of her favorite bartenders. He had first hand seen her track record of always having drinks just show up for. Her bar tabs were always extremely cheap if they were anything at all. Nudging him, she passed him a shot. The woman that was standing next to Spencer had already given her a dirty look over the beverages that were poured for her. Spencer loved this shit. She liked festivals. Knocking back the shot she heaved a sigh at Teddy. “Are you working all day or can, like, I steal you away at some point. I’m bored. We can get your legs in some cut offs and I’ll show you how to get free drinks too.”

where: marina boat tours.

Sydney was maybe a little less than enthused to be at the marina. Sure, she liked boats. She even actually like the water. But she was more happy to be on a boat and tubing or skiing than actually... waiting around. Mostly because on the list of things she wanted to do, a marina tour - even though it was lead by one one of her close and favorite people - was not it. Despite being someone who often was integrated into society, she was more than happy to be actually tucked away from the rest of the people. As Smiley returned back, she propped her legs out, “Are you done? Is that the last one? Can II steal you away now?”
