A volleyball tournament where you can go all out against your adversaries? What could possibly go wrong? Well, a bunch of things, in fact, which is why Battler hasnât really gone all out at all so far. By some miracle, heâs managed to convince his partner to do the same, but he dreads that wonât hold much longer, much to their next adversariesâ woe.
Well, the people before him do seem a bit stronger than the folks he and Abel have faced so far, but would even they be able to hold off against potentially ludicrous reality bending from his part AND merciless raw strength from Abelâs? He doesnât think so.
âUh, before we start, do you folks have any sort of capping youâd like us to follow, power wise? Like âno summoning extra playersâ or âno using powers strong enough to destroy the arenaâ. Iâm cool with anything.â
Nothing would have her blood racing like a healthy competition. nothing, that was to say, other than no-holds-barred healthy competition. How fortunate that her donut-enthused companion be a man of great skill and power, with a significant portion at his disposal. She reached up, meeting the palm of his hand with her own.
âAn excellent victory, Haruto. How fortunate that we could be partners - let us rise all the way to the top!â
Their most recent opponents had put up their best, unfortunately for they, falling short of the mark. Not previously had there been an opportunity to flex her recently restored mana burst, even if far short of its maximum potential. It was ideal, to say the least, in utilizing as part a tournament which would allow such abilities.
The next opponents, they had located after a decent break, and with sufficient moments before their bout were scheduled to begin. Saberâs hands cupped about the volleyball twitched; to hear such a question, to accept the offer of handicap. She could never bear such a thought; it would be disgraceful. Though the examples supplied would not go by without note; abilities sounding within the realm of capable by Servants, yet he spoke with concern that they may overwhelm any who may face them full-force. was that to insinuate they be beyond league which Servants may reach? His friendly warning stumbled into incentive - if she could best them, it would be a great triumph to brandish before the red Archer and blue Lancer she knew well.
âOh? I do hope your concerns do not come from a place of arrogance? Needless to say, it shall be no problem. We will be giving it our all, and would expect the same of our adversariesâ.

âI hope you can still say that in three minutes. Itâs been really boring so far. Iâve just been out here sweating for nothingâŠâ
Despite the calm and non-caring vibe he tended to give off, the true nature of the King of Bel was that of an ungodly competitive child. It wasnât a pride, but rather born from a desire to wring as much enjoyment out of an individual thing as he could. Personally he would have preferred to have entered alone. It would have possibly given him an actual challenge. Heâd even considered putting the Equalizer on to give the contenders thus far some level of chance, but decided he wanted to keep winning for now, that hopefully someone could stand up to him and his partner later down the line.
âBut a fight against another king⊠I couldnât dare hold back could I? Iâll show you a power that will make you bend the knee like all others have before you. No matter the battlefield, if I were to give even a hint of restraint, the War of Bel would start all over again for my lack of resolve.â
Or so he said. He just wanted to play a game really, and finally he had an excuse to give it an effort. He wasnât about to go ripping apart the bounds or reality (yet) but heâd certainly give a certain level of true demon power worthy of his title.
âOh yeah and youâre cool too other guy.â

âMake me feel like the court jester a little more, why donât you...â
Even if it was something as simple as beach volleyball, he could tell his opponents werenât going to be easy to beat. He couldnât tell much about the redhead who suggested the handicap, but his partnerâs response radiated some certain pride. He mightâve not had any kind of senses to tell, but if Haruto had to take a guess, the blue-haired kid wasnât just bringing up that âWar of Belâ bit because he some kind of chuunibyou. Even if he was, theyâd made it this far, so they obviously werenât just some run-of-the-mill scrubs.
He couldnât honestly say he hadnât considered taking the two up on their offer, but, before she even answered, he figured well enough his partnerâs burning competitive spirit wouldnât allow that. Seeing her in action for the games theyâd played in, Saber definitely struck him as the type whoâd look a charging bull in the eyes and run straight through it. Admirable in most circumstances, a little scary in some others.Â
âWell, if thatâs how weâre doing this, I guess I can take the kid gloves off too.âÂ
Sliding the Flame Ring on his finger, he scanned his belt to activate his Driver. The wizard hadnât had to use his Rider form yet, since most of their opponents had been NPCs without much power to them, but something told him not to hold back against these two.Â
He didnât really feel like losing today, either.Â
