[ PROTECT ] - sender wraps receiver in a hug in order to protect them from a potential or present danger.
[ REUNITE ] - having been apart for some time, sender, upon seeing receiver for the first time, sprints to give them a hug. (be emo w this okay PLS--)
[ BATTLE ] - unsure about their survival, sender and receiver see each other across the battle field, and race into a tight, giddy embrace with each other.
[ SHIELD ] - sender pulls receiver into a hug to prevent them from seeing something horrific.
[ COMFORT ] - noticing that the receiver has received terrible news, sender offers them a hug as a means of comforting them during this difficult time.
[ RELIEF ] - sender gives receiver a relieved hug.
[ TEARS ] - sender/receiver/both are in tears, and as such, a hug is shared between them.
[ GREETING ] - sender and receiver share a hug while greeting each other.
[ FINAL ] - sender gives receiver a hug that is either knowingly or unknowingly the last hug they'll ever share.
[ GOODBYE ] - while parting ways, sender gives receiver a hug farewell.
[ HAPPY ] - having received joyous news, sender turns to receiver for a delighted hug.
[ JUST BECAUSE ] - sender hugs receiver "just because".
[ HIDE ] - in order to hide receiver from people chasing them, sender pulls them into a tight hug while hiding their face from view.
[ TACKLE ] - sender (playfully) tackles receiver into a hug.
[ TICKLE ] - while hugging the receiver, sender begins to tickle them.
[ SIDE ] - sender gives receiver a side hug (aka pulling their arm around them and pulling them into their side.
[ OPEN ] - seeing receiver, sender opens their arms out to them for a hopeful embrace.
[ CUDDLE ] - sender and receiver shared a hug that's now upgrading into a cuddle session.
[ TRAUMA ] - having both experienced a massive trauma, sender and receiver share a hug in efforts to comfort one another in the aftermath.
[ TERROR ] - sender hugs receiver out of sheer fear.
[ SAFE ] - having just saved the receiver, sender pulls them into their arms for a protective hug to assure them they're safe.
[ GRATITUDE ] - overwhelmed with gratitude, sender pulls receiver in for a hug to express how thankful they are.
[ MORNING ] - sender gives receiver a hug to say good morning.
[ OKAY ] - sender gives receiver a hug in order to assure them that in the end, everything will indeed be okay.

FIRST MATE โ BRENTON THWAITES AS HENRY TURNER ( @lighthousebornโ ). The son of Will and Elizbeth Turner, Henryโs background in the nuances of pirate history and culture plus his trustworthy, loyal nature made him an easy candidate to be Jacquelineโs first mate aboard The Tempest. He was the first person she approached upon her return to the Isle and was grateful when Henry seemed keen to join her crew.
Their dynamic remains a close one, with Jacqueline often seeking out Henryโs judgment on things when she isnโt sure she is making the right decision herself. Heโs proven to be an irreplaceable asset and friend among her crew, and isnโt afraid to call Jacqueline out when sheโs too stubborn or foolish to see her own mistakes.
QUARTERMASTER โ FERNANDO LINDEZ AS EMILIO. Donโt let his lithe figure and good looks fool you; the son of former Pirate Lord, Esmeralda Maria Consuela Anna de Sevilla is a force to be reckoned with. As the Quartermaster of The Tempest, he is in charge of the shipโs navigation and doles out punishment to those that break the Pirate Code. While he is known to be flirtatious and seductive, he is as vicious as he is beautiful and one should never attempt to underestimate him.
He was among one of the early candidates to sign up for Jacquelineโs crew upon her return and has since then proven to be a formidable Navigator and fighter. Like his mother, Emilio is a skilled swordsman with an eye for picking out his opponents weaknesses.
MASTER-AT-ARMS โ ANASTASIA BARANOVA AS OLYA. Olya is the granddaughter of Borya Palachnik, former Pirate Lord of the Caspian Sea. Although he died before she was born, Olya grew up hearing tales of Boryaโs adventures as a stalwart pirate captain of the Caspian Sea.
She was aboard the The Tempest when it and the Black Pearl came to blows and when Jacqueline eventually took over the ship, Olya saw a golden opportunity and opted to join her crew instead of being marooned with the rest of the dissenters on an island. It took some time to gain Jacquelineโs trust, but eventually she became the Master-at-Arms and is in charge of the shipโs weaponry and fighting condition. ย
VANGUARD ย - LYRICA OKANO AS HARUNA. As the leader of the Vanguard, Harunaโs primary objective is to lead small bands of the crew into skirmishes either at sea or on land. The vanguard is the shipโs first line of defense as they are often the first to be put on the field of battle.ย
While Haruna doesnโt have much history in sailing, she does have strong leadership skills. Her grounded and calm personality makes her the perfect vanguard leader, able to call out orders and stem the flow of chaos in battle by keeping the crew in line and focused on the task at hand.ย
GUNNER โ KATY OโBRIAN AS NYX. A local of Shipwreck Island, Nyx and Jacqueline almost instantly clicked when they met. Both fascinated and eager to learn about each otherโs worlds, Jacqueline spent a good portion of her stay at Shipwreck learning everything she could about the island while she educated Nyx on the Isle and Auradon. Eventually, when Jacqueline made her return trip on The Tempest, it was a no-brainer to ask Nyx to join her crew. The other girl jumped at the chance.ย
Having the freedom to sail her whole life where Jacqueline didnโt, Nyx has an impressive history of seafaring adventure and knowledge of the use of weaponry and cannons, which made her an excellent candidate to the be the shipโs main gunner.ย
CARPENTER โ JODELLE FERLAND AS BEATRICE.ย Daughter of infamous blackguard and betrayer Christophe de Rapier, Beatrice is the black sheep of the Tempestโs crew. Favored by an ill streak of luck that begins with her parentage and only gets worse, Beatrice was factionless for most of her life โan outcast even on the Isle, with no one to claim and no one to be claimed byโ and remains still in a quiet stand off with most of the crew. She is afraid to trust them and they are reluctant to rely too heavily on her, but her carpentry skill and love for the ship herself makes Beatrice a valuable addition.ย
Unlike most of the crew, Beatrice did not volunteer so much as she was volunteered; put to task by Henry. There was a time when she owed her life to him, and while they both view that debt fulfilled, she holds loyal to him for all the kindness and friendship he has offered her since. With encouragement and a personal vouching-for from the first mate, she was signed to the crew. Whether or not sheโll be accepted remains to be seen.
SURGEON โ JOHN BOYEGA AS MERCY. The son of Dr. Joshua Sweet, Mercy is a bit of a surprise addition to the crew. The privilege he had of growing up in Auradon and with the comforts his fatherโs cut of the Atlantis fortune afforded them gives him a unique outlook. Dr. Sweet passed down his extensive knowledge of natural Native American medicinal techniques learned from the Arapaho and Cheyenne people. Mercyโs compassion and empathy makes him an excellent medic as heโs able to keep his patients calm and relaxed while he works to take care of them.
Mercy was looking for medical work prior to joining Jacquelineโs crew; however his lack of official training and medical license made that difficult. So, when he found out The Tempest needed a medic and surgeon, he humbly offered his services with the promise that he would continue his studies in medicine.
COOK โ LUKA SABBAT AS WYATT. A local from Shipwreck Island, Wyatt joined Jacqueline on her return to the Isle as the Cook. His extensive knowledge of fruits, vegetables and herbs makes him an invaluable member of the crew as he keeps them well-fed and somewhat healthy.ย
His insight into food and trade beyond the borders of Auradon also helps Jacqueline establish a trade route with Shipwreck Island, allowing fresh, new foods from the Island in exchange for things like fabrics, spices, and other resources.
STRIKER / CABIN GIRL โ MAITREYI RAMAKRISHNAN AS CHANDA. Another born to privilege in Auradon, Chanda is the daughter of Shanti, and the youngest of the crew at just 17 years-old. She is often overlooked and underestimated by those outside the crew of The Tempest. Despite her name, which meansย โfierce and passionateโ, Chanda is an incredibly shy girl who deals with selective mutism and very rarely talks to anyone outside of the crew. Even then, she tends to only speak in whispers and have others relay her messages.
As the Cabin Girl, she runs basic errands and sends and receives messages for Jacqueline and the crew and while she may be quiet and easily missed, this can often work in her favour as she is able to gather intel on other factions without them noticing. As a Striker, itโs Chandaโs job to fish for sharks and other large fish, as well as hunt for wild game when the crew goes ashore. Her knowledge of plants makes her a valuable asset as sheโs able to gather edible fruits and vegetables, as well as medicinal plants and herbs.ย
** NOT PICTURED: LOOKOUT โ SAVANNAH LEE MAY AS CJ HOOK ( @calithalโ ). CJ doesnโt officially join Jacquelineโs crew until the day of the Royal Wedding. Only by the virtue of Henryโs good word, does Jacqueline allow her aboard her ship. Admittedly, sheโs a little wary of CJโs ability to be committed and follow orders, but sheโs also aware that CJ has the capability to be a formidable ally on the battlefield.ย
As the lookout, itโs CJโs job to alert the crew of any incoming ships, hazards or land masses either with the naked eye or through a spyglass. With CJ being loud and quick on her feet, Jacqueline feels this is the best fit for her until she can prove she can work as a team and take proper orders.ย
