Oh, i should mention, im on unplanned hiatus starting like last week. Sorrryy. I'll totally get those replies done when I come back tho.
Everyday I wake up knowing that no matter how many lives I protect, no matter how many people call me a hero, someone even more powerful could change everything.
#this movie broke everyone
Great Responsibility
With a sigh, Morgan nodded. āIām really sorry, I justā¦ā She bit her lip and twirled her thumbs together, looking down at her shoes. She decided to just spit it out. āIām pregnant, Peter.ā She didnāt want to see his face, so she didnāt look up. āI donāt know why Iām even telling you. Iām gunna⦠take care of it as soon as I can I just⦠I guess I felt like you have the right to know.ā She swallowed back tears, rushing the words out in a hurry.
"Who's the father?" Peter blurted, though he sort of already knew the answer. Otherwise, why would Morgan have come here? He could feel his heartbeat starting to pick up as reality set in. A baby meant change, Peter knew. He didn't haveĀ money, he didn't have a (real)Ā job. He was already juggling college with heroic duties. Could he really handle much more? His life was pretty much a mess; throwing fatherhood into the mix definitely wouldn't lighten the load.Ā He swallowed. He couldn't panic; he had to be rational, calm and supportive for Morgan.Ā Keep it together, Parker,Ā he thought.Ā
His mind was racing at a thousand words per second as Morgan spoke... wait, take care of it?Ā Well, it wasn't really his choice. It was Morgan's. Whether she kept the baby or not, Peter wouldn't let her go through any of it alone.
Peter guided her over to the couch and sat her down. "What do you mean, 'take care of it'?" He asked. "I can't make you do anything, but I think you should keep it," he said comfortingly, sitting next to her. "I mean--we.Ā We should keep it. You know I'm here for you, right?" Having a kid definitely wouldn't be easy, but responsibility was kind of a big deal for him.
Great Responsibility
As she looked over at her friend, she felt her lip quiver. She walked past him in to the house, running a shaky hand through her hair. āPeter, we have a problem,ā she said, sniffling a bit. āWell⦠more like I have a problem⦠but I need your help.ā She bit her lip, not knowing exactly how to explain. She almost wished she hadnāt come at all.
Peter glanced warily outside before closing the door behind Morgan. "Hey, hey, it's alright," He said, placing his hand on her arm, "Tell me what's wrong." He wished he could make her more comfortable. If she was in any kind of danger, Peter was more than ready to defend her. Voice worried, he assured her, "Whatever it is, I'll help."
Great Responsibility
It had been almost a week since the red headed girl hadnāt woken up sick. Though, most of the time, it had been from a hangover. But the past few days had been different. Sheād felt, not only a killer headache that couldnāt be cured by coffee and Advil, but an ever present sense of nausea. She realized she hadnāt taken her birth control for a while and a rush of worry came over her as she rushed to the store to get a pregnancy test. That afternoon, when she took the test, worry struck her like lightening. She couldnāt take care of a kid. There was no way. She would just have to⦠Her throat tightened at the idea. Maybe there was something else. She didnāt want to, but she figured it may be best if she just told who she supposed, or more like hoped, was the father.
It took her only ten minutes to ride her bike to Peterās house. She paced on the porch for a while before finally knocking, decided she should just get it over with.
Peter had nearly dozed off when he heard the door knock. He never had company and obviously wasn't expecting anyone, so it took him entirely by surprise. He slid out of bed and answered the door cautiously. Morgan was there, and she looked troubled. Peter's gaze immediately turned sympathetic. "Hey, what's up?" He asked gently, opening the door wider. "Come on, come in."

"Well, then, itās not every day one meet a superhero." Neal smiled genially. Spider-Man couldnāt be older that twenty-four, and it almost made him nostalgic. By the time he was twenty-four he was James Bonds to the FBI. Good times.
Neal glanced down at his suit jacket. āI didnāt know that. Fascinating,ā he reached out and touched the webs. It wasnāt a federal bond, but he wondered if he could recreate it, just out of academic curiosity. āThatās good to know. Saves me a trip to the drycleanerās.ā He tipped a wink at the young man.
"Neal. Neal Caffrey." He offered his hand. "Itās a pleasure. Thanks for saving my life." What a paltry way to say it, but that was the best he could do, knocked from his usual calm as he was. "Did I interrupt your lunch?" He gestured to the hot dog dropped on the ground. "At the very least, let me buy you a, ah ā proper lunch."
Neal was never one to turn down a New York hot dog, but really, there were much better places to eat.
Peter nearly lost his balance when Neal winked at him. He shook Nealās hand for a second too long and said, āNice to meet you, Neal. And donāt mention it; Saving lives, itās kind of my business.ā
In that moment, Peterās stomach chose to growl loudly once more. He glanced at the hot dog, then back to Caffrey, raising his eyebrows at Nealās offer. Seriously, Neal was a gent. Peter had been living off burgers, ramen, and instant coffee for so long he barely even remembered what a proper lunch was. HeĀ didn'tĀ really have the cash⦠or anyĀ cash, for that matter. He pretty much never got anything in return for superhero duty other than a sense of accomplishment, and heād never turn down free food. āA proper lunch? Well, sure, I got time,ā Peter said casually. āWhere to?ā
Deeds
"Wait, so youāre saying that Matthew Keller managed to somehow break out of a maximum security Russian prison? I donāt know why Iām surprised." Neal sighed through his teeth. Would he ever be free of him? Spain, Nice, Kate, the treasure ā and now this. Now he wouldnāt even stay in the prison where heād been left to rot.
"Yes, there are several places I can think of off the top of my head where he might go. I can provide you with an alphabetical list once I get back to the office. With addresses." He grinned despite himself. "Donāt worry, Jones, I wonāt make it with comic sans font this time. Maybe wingdings.
ā Yeah, tell Peter Iāll be back in twenty. Talk to you later, Iām going to text Mozzie.ā
He hardly noticed anything going on around him. Matthew Keller, the blue collar version of him, the man who ā nothing else was really worth paying attention to. True to his word, he scrolled through his contacts and picked Rick Mauve, one of Mozzieās less inspired aliases. He was halfway through the text, the crush of New York City merely white noise, when suddenly he was jerked backwards and landed on his ass on the pavement.
He groaned, looking up to see the side of the bus that likely would have smashed into him. He blinked, somewhat disturbed, once again, about how easily life could end. In such a mundane way.
A voice caused him to look up, and ā Spiderman? Really?
He took the younger manās hand and stood up. A quick look down over his suit confirmed that Spiderman had saved him, the remnants of his webbing clinging to his suit jacket. āYeah, Iām fine, aside from surprise and a bit of a bruised ego,ā he admitted with a wry smile. āSeems I have you to thank. As for the phone,ā he chuckled as he looked down at the piece of technology on the pavement. He crouched down to retrieve it, āno, not worth being hit by a speeding bus.ā He joked to hide his own embarrassment. The scare would be gone by the end of the day; he was mostly embarrassed.
"I take it youāre Spiderman, then?"
So, the guy was definitely more attractive up close. Peter was grateful for the mask, 'cause he was definitely blushing. "Glad to hear you're okay," he said genuinely.Ā Couldn't let anything happen to that face, he thought.
"Ah, yeah, I'm Spider-Man," Peter hesitated, unsure of how he felt about his reputation preceding him. Most people admired or were intrigued by him, but there was the ever-present group who sought to vilify him at every moment. Whether you hated or loved Spider-Man really depended on which paper you read. Peter stared at the webs sticking to the guy's jacket and added, "Those disintegrate, by the way. It shouldn't, like, ruin your nice suit or anything."Ā
Peter decided to play this cool a little longer. Maybe he could casually run into him later when he wasn't in a costume. "So what's your name?"
Deeds
Peter's stomach seemed to always pick the worst times to start growling. He had finally picked the perfect rooftop to sit on and keep a watchful eye on the streets below, monitoring for any danger. Of course, as soon as he was perched comfortably and focused, he realized he wasĀ starving.Ā Peter tried to ignore it, but eventually he rationalized that if thereĀ was danger afoot, he better not tackle it with an empty fuel tank.
He swung down to the street below where the greasy aroma of hot dogs greeted him. His red-and-blue costume quickly earned him a few stares; some people even whipped out their phones to snap pictures as he walked casually to the hot dog stand. Producing a five dollar bill from his waistband, Peter handed it to the guy and placed his order. With a less-than-subtle glare, the guy accepted the cash and slowly began fixing his hot dog. "Keep the change," Peter said as he took his food.
Just as he was about to lift his mask and sink his teeth into lunch, something--someone, rather--caught his eye. Oh, wow, Peter thought as he eyed the well-cut stranger. The first thing that Peter noticed was the way he was dressed; it wasn't overly formal, but crisp and suave. The way he carried himself was refined, and Peter caught himself staring in almost the exact same why he'd mentally criticized the crowd for. Immediately after this realization, his gut instinct was to look away. Handsome Stranger chose that moment to wander into oncoming traffic, however.
A bus, showing no signs of stopping, was hurtling down the street straight towards the guy, who was too absorbed in his phone to spare an upward glance. Peter dropped his hot dog without a moment of hesitation and shot a stream of hot, sticky web straight at the guy. It latched around his shoulders and, with a flick of his wrists, Peter jerked him out of harm's way... and inadvertently, onto his ass. The bus continued speeding past like nothing had happened as Peter jogged over.Ā
"You alright, sir?" he said, extending his hand. "I hope whatever you were doing on that phone was worth getting hit by a bus," Peter said jokingly.
Great Responsibility
It was a surprisingly uneventful Friday night. It was 11pm, and he'd patrolled the streets for hours after he got out of class at six. Crime usually spiked at nightfall, but wherever he heard scuffling it was accompanied by some other masked vigilante diffusing the whole situation. Fuck this, I got homework to do, Peter thought as he webbed himself back home. He changed out of his gear and cracked open his textbook. Of course, everybody else Peter's age was having wild parties and probably getting wasted, but he was never about that lifestyle. Sometimes he wished he was just so he could have something to do and feel normal and not... alone.
Peter studied for an hour or so before slamming the book closed and throwing it in a pile with his other discarded school materials. He sighed, drummed his fingers on his desk, then got up and flopped onto his bed. It was going to be a long night.
Loki smirked as the young man ran from him, he started shoot cars with his sceptre. Screams rang out from the surrounding areas, as cars burst into flames and exploded. In the corner of his eye, Loki saw a blue and red blur coming towards him. In hope of hitting it, he pointed his scepter out towards the blur and shot a blue beam towards it.
Peter was knocked back with such force it felt like he'd been punched in the gut by the fiery fist of Satan himself. Peter hit the asphalt hard, throwing his arms over his stomach in a daze.Whatever Loki had shot at him, it burned and tingled and seemed to send little electric shocks all through his body. Honestly, what theĀ fuck. He seriously needed some lasers.
"I hate this guy," Peter mumbled as slowly stumbled to his feet. He was totally outmatched in terms of raw power, which meant he'd have to be smart. Loki was smart too, as he'd heard, but Peter still had one advantage: this was his city. He knew this city like it was his own backyard, and he wasn't going to let some pompous prick tear it apart.
Oh, and that scepter. That scepter wasĀ bad news. If he could take that, he could level the playing field a little bit. Peter launched a web at Loki. He didn't expect it to stick, just to offer a distraction. A moment later, he launched a second web. The intent was that while Loki swatted away the first one, he could get a hold onĀ something with the second. And, if Loki decided to launch another Blue Fiery Ball of Death at him, he was far enough away to dodge it in time.
Laserwebs
Well, the kid certainly had a flair for the theatrical, and that was certainly something that Tony could respect. Ā Tonyās trip to the workshop was made by the much less exciting method of āhe took the elevator,ā as he rattled off a list of questions to Jarvis (āHoming systems have been re-calibrated? Ā Cleared for extreme heat? Ā Internal oxygen supply is ready?ā) and finished with a dry, āMarvelous,ā as he got an affirmative answer to each question.
Donning the Mark VIII was much less of a hassle than it was the first time around, and then a window in the workshop opened and Tony launched himself out, into the air. Ā The window closed once more behind him, and a nav point appeared on his HUD (though he doubted he would actually need it, considering the clouds of choking black smoke).
A similar cryāāItās Iron Man!āāwent up as he hovered over the building, HUD attempting to pick up heat signatures from the people stuck inside, but utterly failing in theā¦well, heat. Ā Instead, Tony simply relied on Jarvis telling him which window Spider-Man had been seen crawling in. Ā Fortunately, Tony was used to having to get the suit in or out of awkward places, and that included windows (as well as fireplaces, caves, parking garages, and pianos). Ā ā¦Wait, so, the kid had justā¦dove right into a burning building? Ā I mean, kudos for the iron sack, but that probably wasnāt the best thought out plan.
And, there. Ā Gridlines overlaying the room, spotting Spider-Man was only marginally infuriating, instead of psychotically so. Ā Tony grabbed Peterās shoulder with one gauntleted hand, to push him back towards the window. Ā āGet back towards the window. Ā Iāll pass her to you once I get her out and you can lower her to the ground.ā
Sure enough, Tony came to his aid. Infinitely grateful, Peter did as he was ordered and got to the window. His suit was holding up surprisingly well; Unlike Iron Man, it wasn't comprised of extremely resistant supermetal or whatever. He almost made it out of there without a hole, burn, or tear to speak of, but that went to shit as soon as he set his hand on the windowsill. His left hand met with a pile of still smoldering cinders. Even through the suit, it hurt like a bitch and Peter had to suppress a yelp. He could smell the burnt spandex.Ā
With only mild disdain, Peter realized 'firefighter' would never be a viable career path for him. For the rest of his life, he would be avoiding fire at all costs. He crawled out the window and took up residence on the outer wall of the building. To his dismay, the cinders had burned off the majority of the little hairs on his left hand, making sticking to the wall a lot more challenging. Relying mostly on his right hand, heĀ clung to the wall and caught his breath. Dry, semi-fresh air had never tasted this good. Once he could take a deep breath without choking his lungs out, Peter craned his neck to peer into the building. Hopefully he would be ready when Iron Man passed him the girl.Ā
Aunt Mayā please, please please go to sleep.Ā I canāt sleep!
